I'd rather not see politics in my baseball threads. Because you know I'm sure there's no cooperate liberals dodging paying for health insurance. What a load of [expletive]. I can't even afford health insurance for my family now thanks to liberals completely destroying healthcare in this country.

It really does turn me off the Cubs a little that the Ricketts own the Cubs. I wanted them to really be nice guys, but it sure doesn't seem that way.

There are like 5 sports owners that aren't a-holes and that might be optimistic. We'll survive.

Javier Baez has had 82 at bats this season. Victor Martinez has had 444. They have the same amount of strike outs (36).

Javier Baez has had 82 at bats this season. Matt Carpenter has had 490. They have had the same amount of home runs (7).

 

Same trick works for Yadier Molina, Allen Craig, Bryce Harper, Brandon Phillpis, Russell Martin, Gerardo Parra and Yonder Alonso.

Yeah, people who can afford to own sports franchises live in a different universe from the rest of us. It would be rare for them to behave in a way that we would find endearing.

 

BTW, for Howard Stern fans out there, I ran into Ronnie the Limo the Driver, his girlfriend Stephanie, Mike Gange, and Steve Brandano under the stands near RF during the rain delay on Saturday v. the O's. Gange was very friendly; we had a brief convo about the delay and when the game might start again. Ronnie, on the other hand, was every bit the grumpy old a-hole he comes off as on the air. He refused to make eye contact and seemed genuinely pissed off that it was raining and he had been recognized by someone in the crowd.

 

In any case, it was a cool experience and verifies that these guys are pretty real when they are on the air.

Not many Minor Leaguers capture Player of the Week honors in three different leagues in one season. Schwarber, after going deep in five straight games last week, is one of them. The Cubs fourth overall pick in June's Draft, Schwarber owns a .671 slugging percentage -- second in the Minors only to fellow Cubs prospect Kris Bryant.

That would be cool if it were true. Unfortunately, Jorge Soler is slugging .700, meaning Bryant and Schwarber rank second and third.
