Good job crapping the bed when you got a chance to play for a winner last year, Matt. Probably why you had to sign with the Brewers which would hardly be the first choice for someone that just wanted win.

Funny how the ARam narative has changed as well since I kind of recall him being offended at the time when the Cubs did not make an effort to resign him.

But best of luck to both of these guys now that they are playing with those "winners" the Brewers who will be lucky to finish third in the Central.

Context; every team who wasn't the Astros and the Cubs looked like a winner before this season and the last.

If the front office had given him the money he wanted on a contract extension he would still be here. He is full of crap and this is just stuff he says now that he is gone to make himself feel better.

Or he just has eyes and ears and knows how bad the Cubs are.

He's also a dumb ass.

He's an idiot savant; sometimes he's right and he looks like a [expletive] genius. This is one of those times. I applaud him and his boisterous honesty and this thoughtfulness towards his fellow player.

Players who went to bad teams before they decided to intentionally be bad are allowed to whine about having years of their career pissed away on some hypothetical farm system dream team. To act like Garza's out of line or a dumbass to say that it sucks to be on teams with no prayer of winning is ridiculous.

Who said that's why he's a dumbass?

The point isn't that he was right to say that; it's that he now plays for a team that also has no chance of winning big. If he really was so gung ho about winning he would have taken less to go to a legit contender, or even stay with Texas.

Well, you said it here, so that was the implication. And even if you didn't mean that, people off this board certainly have.

As it stands now, Fangraphs has Milwaukee projected for 86 wins. Maybe he could've taken less to go to one of the best 2 or 3 teams, but it's not like the Brewers are a wasteland.

But he IS on a team that actually has a chance of having a winning season because, shockingly, that CAN happen when seasons aren't being punted.

It's almost as if the rigid success cycle that Cubs fans have subscribed to en masse like a religion isn't a real thing.

Nah. He's just kind of a crappy person so I don't really care about his complaints about what he was "subjected" to in Chicago.

Yeah, if only he had just surrendered to cold logic and just accepted the necessity of being willfully terrible.

Why?

They really aren't that bad of a team.

Don't try to talk me out of it. If you believe it, why not take the action?

Maybe so but he is being disengenious because if the Cubs had been willing to pay him he would have stayed and be saying how he wants to be part of the excitement when things finally turn around.

He is full of crap and just likes to hear himself talk. And it makes him feel better about himself to talk [expletive] about the Cubs and tell Shark to leave because he is jilted they wouldn't give him the money he wanted and valued prospects more than him.
