since you guys won't stop, can we talk about the time the blackhawks scored two goals in 17 seconds to win the stanley cup

I'd rather watch the Bartman inning on a 3 hour continuous loop than watch hockey.

And here I thought all this reminiscing by CSN and other sites was a poorly planned gimmick but it turns out all you weirdos justify it by reading and watching this stuff.

I'll probably watch the 5 Outs thing. Why? I have no idea.

I honestly thought there was no way they could top having an OT Cup winner from my favorite player, but that was even better. To go from thinking about game 7 to barely having time to think about OT before getting into the countdown, unbelievable.

I still have this on my bookmarks bar and listen to it all the time:

who the hell cares if we rehash the 2003 playoffs? While Games 6 and 7 sting i have more happy memories of that season than sad ones so it doesn't bother me to discuss and read about it.

That playoff hurt, but the mark prior career saga still hurts more. I thought we'd have a few more shots. Hell, if he doesn't get hurt we still probably have him in our rotation.

The conversation isn't about winning game 5 in Atlanta.

Ok, but how awesome was Woody's game seven homer?

Yeah, forget the stupid Playoff Series That Shall Not Be Named.

The real hurt is how amazingly horrifying the last decade has been when *everything* seemed to be pointing up. Some of it was bad management, but a lot of it has been flat-out bad luck.

is there a .gif or video clip of Kenny Lofton's face when Sammy murdered that ball to the camera well. that was awesome

Well it was a fun season. I'll probably watch it up until game 6.

Yeah. I had all those games DVR'd and my biggest regret is erasing all of it in disgust after they lost.

Most of it was bad management.

Aramis hits his grand slam, no cub fan was feeling better about the team since 1908 at that point. I remember being young, ridiculously good looking(lol), and single loving life at that point. I'm still ridiculously good looking at least.

I think the hardest thing for me about reliving Game 6 is the realization that it was a decade ago. Like it sucks that the cubs lost, but holy crap im old now.

right? i watched that game in a DORM ROOM. because i was a freshman in undergrad. that was so long ago. the way things are going now, i'll be watching the next cubs playoff game from the inside of a coffin.

That really hit me about a year ago when I watched the 30 for 30 thing. I'm like seriously? That was 9 years ago? And seeing all the random footage they had bought all these memories flooding back.

Even the fact that the glorious 08 season was 5 years ago blows my mind.

I, too, was a freshman watching all of the playoffs in a dorm room. During game 1 of the NLDS, I got so pissed that they weren't bringing any runs in, i took my flip phone and hit it against my desk. Needless to say, the phone was a goner. My roommate was a bit horrified over my inability to manage my emotions.

Doesn't top game 2 of 2008 NLDS though, when after the floodgates opened, I took a bud light and just poured it on top of my head. Yes, an entire beer. I was somehow hoping that the beer on my head would numb my emotions.

Ok, back to the Blackhawks winning the cup in miraculous fashion, please.

That the filthy Blackhawks have won TWO championships since 2003 and have brought a godforsaken resurrection of hockey here is even worse than the White Sox winning the WS in 2005.

I had been living in St. Louis for 10 months. I was enjoying the Cubs success and had no idea how awful the fans down here were yet. There wasn't much better than crushing their hopes in that 5 game series around Labor Day.

I've now been living in St. Louis for 10 years and everything is terrible now. :(
