Been watching this game while peeling potatoes and just wanted a chance to see the Boilermakers. Never expected the game to be this close, especially while trailing by 20+.

I prefer this to what was passing as defense. The athletes will adjust and this will even back out. Hopefully the football will be gone from college basketball.

Iowa doesn't win tonights game last year. Hell, I'm not sure the last time theywon a game like that vs a quality team.

Yeah it's huge to get a win like that when you play so poorly overall. How do you come back from down 15 in the second half when you shoot 30% in the second half? Marble put them on his back. Huge for RPI purposes also. Now you'll come out of here with 3 games vs. top 50 teams most likely and at least 1 win. With a loss we easily could have played 2 sub-100 teams.

What a [expletive] performance from Purdue today. Washington state is a garbage team and they dominated the second half.

This is a fun game from Iowa. I would love to see what they can do against Kansas tomorrow (assuming Iowa doesn't blow a 30 point lead and Kansas beats Villanova.)

It appears Illinois is losing to some kind of food packers union pickup team.

IPFW began 1-8 from the free throw line, or else this would be embarrassing.

 

As is, it looks like Illinois finally woke up.

Illinois misses 3 of 4 FTs in the final minute to keep this terrible game interesting.

KU looked awful. The officiating in CBB is terrible. Embiid will be a better pro than wiggins.

Yeah I mean I'm biased but it felt like they got every 50/50 call in the 2nd half. It got really physical in the last 12 minutes and the officials reverted to the 2012 appraoch. There were 2 that were really bad late (Gesell block, McCabe on box out) and both went against Iowa. They were the team launching from deep while Iowa was attacking but they were getting the calls.

 

Basically Iowa was in control the first 28 minutes, was up 12 with 11:30 to go then got dumb offensively, Villanova got unconscious from 3 and we didn't get any calls. Frustrating loss but in the grand scheme of things it was probably about right to split this and the Xavier games.

Seen better called games, seen worse. I think Iowa lost because 'Nova couldn't miss. This game means nothing if we can get some quality wins.

I'm really glad that my expectation of Purdue this year was so low that I'm not even shocked by this.

Down 16 in the second half they came back and won somehow. I'm going to go ahead and pick BC in the challenge this week.
