Only the Cubs.

yes i can't think of any non-cub prospects who did something stupid with a bat, like, say, throwing it an an umpire.

And thankfully for the Cubs and Soler, that incident didn't ruin Delmon Young's career.

It's a running joke with the BP prospects podcast. "Want" is basically baseball hipster shorthand for "desire," "drive," or "motivation."

I believe Soler just showcased his desire, drive, and motivation to beat the crap out of that second baseman.

So you're saying the meatballs in Chicago are going to love him?

If he hits the baseball like he is capable, then I am sure there will be no problems.

I highly doubt we are dealing with Milton Bradley part deux here. God, I hope not.

Are there baseball hipsters now?

the hell do you think kevin goldstein is?

Baseball is pretty much destined to be a huge hipster sport. The eureka moment for me was when I spotted a vintage Royals Bret Saberhagen shersey at a local brewery opening event.

So, weighing it out-Baez, with his "I'll do WTF I want" or Soler with his Serrano impersonation "bring that [expletive] to me, man"? Close call honestly.....

Maybe I'm just being optimistic, but I expect that this will ultimately be a short suspension and a learning experience for Soler. Scouts have heretofore raved about his maturity. Better he lose it in A+ than MLB.

Newest report says Soler only motioned to the opposing dugout with a bat and didn't actually strike anything with it.

I find it to be a good sign that it was reportedly Baez who broke up the first run-in between Baez and the Clearwater player.

[expletive] you deadspin

They were running with tweets by Josh Timmers, who was listening to the game. Blame Timmers or the Daytona broadcasting crew.
