Michigan wasted 20 seconds by not realizing Louisville wasn't in the bonus yet.

Congrats to Louisville....Burke missed 2 shots all game and Albrecht scored 17 points and we still lost.

At least we still have 2 TOs left

2 observations.

1. NCAA should be embarrassed that those are the 3 best refs they have. I am not saying that officiating cost Michigan the game or made it closer. But it was just awful.

2. I love the intensity that Louisville brings all the time. I don't think that is as easy as it sounds, but it seems like they play their butts off for 40 mins.

Guess its time for me to lament on the poor officiating and the little moments that could have gone the other way. I usually don't bitch about the refs because I know I view the game with biased eyes and notice calls that go against my team a lot more than calls that go in their favor but I cant help but think there were a lot more bad calls against UM tonight.

-Blatant goaltending towards the beginning of the game goes uncalled. There was no debate on that call, it should have been but wasnt called

-Burke's 2nd foul, the one that caused him to sit the final 11 minutes of the 1st half, was quite phantom. Can disregard that one because the backup PG scored 17 points in his absence

-The block by Burke that was called a foul...again pretty close to undebatable

-Hancock committing his 4th foul and not getting it called on him. He picked up his 5th (offically 4th) foul shortly after and played the rest of the game and hit big FTs down the stretch

I'm missing a couple other slightly less blatant ones.

But at the end of the day, the Cardinals scored 61 points in the final 24 minutes of the game and absolutely destroyed UM on the boards (at least over the last 25 or so minutes....the final margin was UL 31 (15), UM 26 (8) but I know at one point in the 1st half they showed a graphic but can't remember the numbers and the announcers said 'Michigan is dominating on the boards so far'). They are the better team overall and in the end they won. Kudos to them.

I have serious issues with how Hancock(and others) draw fouls on those fake shot, then jump into the opponent while chucking the ball up. I think it is just one of many things the NCAA needs to take a serious look at

The image of Howland and Tubby for the "time is short" lyric in One Shining Moment actually made me laugh out loud. That was cold.

Dylan Burkhardt @umhoops

Trey Burke says he's honestly not thinking about the NBA draft. Will talk it over in coming weeks with family, staff.

I'll give everyone on this forum $5 if Burke returns to UM next year.

Yep. There was a 3-4 play stretch in the first half where they missed a goal tend, called a BS foul on McGary, missed a kick which should have reset the shot clock for Louisville (that was at about 9 when it happened), and then called McGary for a travel on a rebound when he was obviously pushed. And that's just one sequence.

Absolutely embarrassing performance all around, and that doesn't even get into the wrestling match they let things become in general. Bilas has been bitching about this for a couple years now and he's exactly right about it. They have to get rid of all the grabbing and pushing that teams (read: Wisconsin) get away with to muck it up and give themselves a chance.

I don't have an issue with that. You bite on a pump fake, you deserve negative consequences.

You should. If the offensive guy leans into the defender, that should never, ever be called a foul. If the the defender stays vertical, you're rewarding the offensive guy for initiating contact. It's a crap play and awful officiating when it gets called.

Nope, still don't. Don't bite on a pumpfake.

The consequence is that you are out of position defensively.

Lol, what was described is a charge. You as a defender have the right to jump up vertically.

eh, as bad as the officiating was it didn't perturb me as much as all the offensive boards we gave up seemingly 1 on 4 and the walk-on draining every single shot like he's Spike Albrecht or something

and about that guy

Sources told SB Nation that Hancock is considering trying to transfer to Michigan as well as Virginia, the latter of which had previously been reported. (May 2011)

This. Jumping to defend is, well, defense.
