In thinking about whether to advance to the fourth round or start over, I'm thinking since we started much later than normal things may not have changed enough to warrant doing another first round. However, I also wonder how many people know enough of the fourth round guys to keep interest high (that's been brought up in the past).

I'd probably favor going on to the fourth round, but don't have a problem starting over either. Thoughts?

I PM'd Tiger, by the way.

I know I will have to bow out either way. I will be gone for a week starting Weds. I'll try to check in from time to time, but I don't want to slow things down either.

Thanks for letting me know.

Titans take Kiko Alonso, LB, from Oregon. Need some depth at MLB since McCarthy can't stay healthy and Alonso is a quick, versatile linebacker who can be used as a situational blitzes when McCarthy's healthy.

I'm going to give it a bit more time to get some opinions on whether to restart the mock or go on to the fourth. If I don't hear many disagreements, then I'll start up Round 4 this afternoon.

Sorry for missing my pick, I was out of town without interwebs. Was hoping my pick would come up before I left, but nope!

No problem. You like the Hughes pick?

Yeah, not bad. Dude looks like an NFL nose tackle, if he can get his head straight he could be pretty good. Too bad Mathieu got scooped up a few picks earlier, was hoping he'd fall.

That was my thought as well on Hughes. He was a very well thought of recruit who's a really good athlete, he just needs to stay clean off the field. Could be a great long term nose tackle.

Joeckel is still the pick at 1-1.

I think there are going to be a ton of surprises Thursday night. Evidently there are more injury issues than normal, so medicals could factor more than usual. The QB class is weak, but considering the importance of the position, teams will reach like crazy for them. Reports that picks 10-40 or so are all basically even talent-wise. It won't shock me if our mock only has half the projected 1st round, even get drafted in the 1st.

10 (72) Jets - Ryan Nassib, QB, Syracuse

Supposedly McShay has him going #8 overall to Buffalo in his latest mock draft.

That's been rumored off and on since Marrone was hired there. I agree with davell - I think with the quality depth in this draft but the really weak top end will lead to a lot of wrong predictions. I could easily see any of the top QBs taken in the first round and any of them falling to the 2nd/3rd round.

i don't really see why any picks would change if we were to restart this thing with like 3 days left

I agree, though the 13th pick would very likely change now. That could lead to a chain effect. I've been extremely busy the past few days, though, so I've not been able to get a 4th round going or restart it.

All it takes is one of the top 5 or 6 to change what happens next, and the Jets/Tampa trade certainly throws a wrench. I would be shocked if we went through the first 12 with the same selections.

Other than changing it up just for the same of changing it up, I'm not sure what new information is out there to change the first 12 picks. We've not had anybody rise a huge amount or anybody's stock collapse either.

I wouldn't be stunned if the first 12 picks stay exactly the same if we redo it. That said I'm more than willing to do it if the interest is there.

Its impossible to say what certain posters will do, but just in the top five I could see Star and Werner dropping and Fischer going 4. You may still see about 80% of the same picks, but a different order.

It's possible, I just think if there is a change it'll primarily be due to wantin to do something different the second time around rather than new information that has come out. Star's issues were well known when we did the first round and Werner's still a guy who should go late in the first but is a top 10 candidate.

I do agree we may see some differences in the 2 first rounds, but it'd probably be for reasons other than new information changing people's opinion of who they chose initially.

I don't think there is a ton of new info on players, but more info on certain teams thought process. So depending on how you do your picks, you may choose a new player if additional rumors came out in regards to that team, rather than the player. If you picked based on what you would do, I agree there is less likely to be info to change your mind. I know in years past we did the first round much earlier and this year was a much faster pace, so should be less change in general.

Yeah, the later start date is the main reason I think there will be fewer changes in a redo of this first round. That said, again, I'm fine with trying to push through the first round again before Thursday night.
