Officially, he's wrong then. I still understand the sentiment, though. It's not the same team across seasons.

I don't understand his sentiment at all. He's way off. A team's point totals matter in any one season because that is how seasons are judged. An individual's goals scored in one season count when judging who won a scoring title for that specific season.

But nobody is giving the Blackhawks extra points toward this season's standings based on what happened last season. A streak is just a random phenomena that has no bearing on any one season in and of itself. If the streak started last year and continued this year it continues. Nobody gets a trophy for it (although knowing the Blackhawks they will probably have a 2-hour ceremony where they present everybody with a picture of the Stanley Cup).

Hi. A question for Miss Bellamy. In episode 2F09 when Itchy plays Scratchy's skeleton like a xylophone, he strikes the same rib twice in succession, yet he produces two clearly different tones. I mean, what are we to believe, that this is some sort of a magic xylophone or something? Boy, I really hope somebody got fired for that blunder.

I think we may have seen the last of Brookbank for a while. If Montador can play, Brookbank will get the Lepisto treatment until they can trade one of them.

I believe they'll call up Smith once they decided the extent of Sharp's injury. Hopefully Shaw doesn't have a concussion. If he does, I wonder if they'd bring up St. Pierre instead of Pirri. It would be a nice rreward for St. Pierre and probably better for Pirri.

Anyone heard what's wrong with Frolik?

The random line generator will be in full force. Here's what I think Q will start with Friday:

Toews- Hossa- Carcillo

Bolland-Kane- Saad

Kruger- Bickell-Stalberg

St. Pierre/ Pirri/Mayers- Smith- Frolik

I like that second line.

What does that have to do with anything?

Wait, the article was more "angry at the details" than what Jersey said....

Well, I didn't READ anything prior to what Jersey said. I was more about the joke. I mean, who needs context?

That said, I'd like to bail gracefully at this point since now I feel dumb.

Ugh

Miami Heat forward LeBron James and a couple of Chicago Blackhawks exchanged tweets after both teams pulled out dramatic victories Wednesday to extend their respective streaks.

James initially tweeted: "Hey Chicago Blackhawks, u guys are AWESOME!! #streaking."

Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane and Bryan Bickell both responded to James. Kane tweeted, "Back at you LeBron. Keep rolling." Bickell tweeted, "Thanks for the support man. It's been pretty crazy."

Is the ugh because of your Bulls love and Heat/LeBron hate?

I hate Lebron/the Heat, but cool to see some pros exchanging some respect for what each other is doing. No problem with that.

Credit where credit is due, that was fantastic even if it was ill timed.

My thoughts exactly. Also, in a round about way, it kind of gives Stephen A. Smith a big "F You" since NBA players (LeBron, even) are recognizing the Blackhawks' streak.

Also, along the Stephen A. Smith lines... is NFL football a joke? Their games can end in a tie.

Bah, no credit there, he's used the same joke before!

It was far more on point the first time, but I feel that it's the kind of reference that can be used many times for many topics.

As somebody who utilizes almost nothing but Simpsons and Seinfeld quotes when talking with family, I can relate.

Sure, and I can't speak for him.

To me it is different if a given group of players do it all together during the same season, versus two different sets of players with an offseason in between. Not that I really care. They can tally it up whatever way they want. I'm just saying there's a difference between the two.

They don't exactly turn over the roster season over season. And they do make moves in the middle of the season. This has essentially been the same team for quite a while now.

There is something to be said about putting together a streak during a season where you are playing almost every other night and battling fatigue and nagging injuries. The Blackhawks streak benefits from taking 9 months off after the 6th game and getting to resume it with a couple of additions to the team.

I don't know it's not a huge deal overall but I can understand if people think its ever so slightly less impressive than doing it in one season. Just my opinion.

I don't like the way that counting the games from last season ignores what happened in the playoffs. Otherwise, I really don't care about the streak at all. 24 straight to start the season will be hard to break but no one will care until someone else gets close. When that happens, I'm sure they'll ask Kane and he'll say how their record was better because it was a shortened season, more back to back games and so forth.
