so i'm confused, philly holds the longest loss-less streak total? because it appears they lost the 2nd game of the season to atlanta.

Their streak was midseason.

@suss2hyphens: Blackhawks are on pace to tie a team record for fewest losses (zero), set in the 04–05 season.

On first look the elbow looked reactionary to a hit about to come, but it needs to be reviewed just in case.

Sharps injury sounds like a separated shoulder, which would suck. Hossa is probably going to be day to day and Shaw might get a few days to relax. Sounds like Bollig might be coming right back.

Q didn't really sound worried when asked about Hossa during the game. Sharps injury looked like the type of injury that would keep someone out for an extended period

Q needs to stop wasting a lineup spot on Brookbank if he's only going to give him a couple shifts. Second time he's done that.

I doubt Bollig comes back up. Give Pirri or Morin a shot.

Coach Q: Hossa was close to playing, could return Friday. Will know more about Shaw tomorrow. Sharp "may miss some time."

Concussion for Shaw?

Concussion for Shaw?

Per ESPN:

Quenneville said the Hawks will know more about Shaw on Thursday but does not believe his injury to be serious.

Obvious caveat being that this is a paraphrase of cryptic Q injury-speak.

i just hope sharp is back for the playoffs, or at least is a brian campbell situation and can come back in the middle rounds.

Time to bring up Ben Smith or Jeremy Morin.

Bobby Clarke won two Stanley Cups with the Philadelphia Flyers and played a key role in helping them set a new record in 1979-80 with their 35-game points streak.

Clarke thinks “all the records should be challenged and beaten by new generations,” but he argues that the Blackhawks aren’t as close to besting his team’s mark as people are giving them credit for.

“They can’t use last year’s games, that’s foolishness,” Clarke said in an NHL.com report. “Can Sidney Crosby go back and take the points he got in the last 10 games and add them to this year and add them to the scoring race? Can the Flyers add their point total from the last 10 games and add them to this year so they can get a playoff spot?

“It’s legitimate if they do it in one season. It’s not legitimate if they use two season totals.”

Actually, yes Bobby. If they're talking about a personal scoring streak, they can indeed go back to last year.

I get his complaint. It is a little different when it comes between 2 seasons. Especially because the Hawks lost in regulation during the playoffs (albeit once in 6 games).

All sports count records for winning streaks across seasons though. For example, there's several of the top NBA winnings streaks that span seasons.

Officially, he's wrong then. I still understand the sentiment, though. It's not the same team across seasons.

Ultimately, I'd guess they'll sort it into two records. One for longest winning streak overall, and one for longest in a single season.

Let's just have the Hawks get a point in all 48 games and there won't be any debate.
