SJ lost, albeit in a shootout.

 

I know a lot of people don't want to hear this, but the Hawks playing completely no-contact hockey is going to catch up with them at some point. A lot of people compare this team to Detroit of the last many years, but even they were never this soft.

They doubled up Calgary in hits. And got completely outplayed.

 

That surprises me but I guess they were too busy taking target practice on Emery.

 

It's not just a matter of wanting to see people get crushed. There's far too much stick checking going on, especially on the forecheck. Sure it takes you out of the play if the pass gets made, but as long as your guy goes down, it's fine.

 

This is at least partially why the Canucks and Flames had such an easy time breaking out of their zone the last few games.
