14-18 months is a lot longer than the usual recovery time. Unless it's a particularly bad tear, I don't see how it's that long.

It just seems like forever compared to AP's freakish recovery.

No, it seems wrong because it's usually a 10-12 month recovery. If they did the surgery this week, for example, I would say November would be about right.

In the real world, sure, but it's more fun to imagine Shanahan inflicted more longterm damage. Also, if it could be 12 months to recover and he has the surgery in January 2013, there's probably very little reason to try and get him playing in 2013.

Ah, yes, sorry, I was thinking a year in my mind. Don't they usually have to wait a while to let swelling, etc go down?

Both of those are points I can agree with; Shanahan should be fired today. You don't pull that kind of crap with a franchise player; it is like if Thibs had put Rose out there with a knee brace for game 2.

it's like sending your 23-year old ace back to the mound after his shoulder just had a violent collision with another player

Pfft. Who would do something like that?

RGIII has a partially torn LCL and at least a partially torn ACL and the tests he's having tomorrow are to determine if it's a complete tear of the ACL.

Is a LCL tear worse/same/"better" than doing the same thing to the MCL/ACL/PCL? Or is it all about the same? Obviously re-tearing the ACL he already tore once isn't a good thing.

RG3 looked handicapped most of the game before he re(further)-injured his knee. It was tough to watch the slow-motion replays of his throw when you could see that he could barely put pressure on it. Shanahan is a moron.

Michael Robinson of the Seahawks has video of the field from before the game...

That's embarrassing. How does a professional organization let that happen to their field? Is it that hard to maintain the field that gets played on 8-10 times a year? Was there recently a soccer or bowl game there or something?

It's something that seems all it takes to maintain is resources (ie money) and Dan Snyder doesn't seem to have a shortage or tendency to not spend that.

I think several college games were played at Fed Ex this year and Pittsburgh has high school championship games on theirs. I don't know what the excuse in Chicago is.

Concerts late in the summer, NCAA game, a handful of high school games and just general crappiness.
