Am I the only one who didn't remember him being on the Cubs in 2009?

Ryan Freel said not even Farney believed that Freel made the stupendous diving catch on Albert Pujols Tuesday.

Farney? Who's Farney?

"He's a little guy who lives in my head who talks to me and I talk to him," said Freel, acting as if he finally crashed into too many walls, ran into too many catchers and dived into too many dugouts. "That little midget in my head said, 'That was a great catch, Ryan,' I said, 'Hey, Farney, I don't know if that was you who really caught that ball, but that was pretty good if it was.' Everybody thinks I talk to myself, so I tell 'em I'm talking to Farney.' "

guy was legit crazy. rip.

I remember because of the Farney thing. Of course he'll be remembered for his days with the Reds when he was Reed Johnson X 10, which is what lead to said concussions.

I was really confused when the article I saw had a picture of him in a Cubs jersey.

For some reason, I remember hearing he had a problem with alcoholism. But I may be totally making that up. Very sad. RIP

Time to ban alcohol.

We should just ban the mentally ill

I thought the only way to fix alcoholism is with more alcohol.

This is fun.

"FTH" in a baseball context means "eff the hell?"

See: FJM

Seeing people use that on this site for years I always assumed that's what it meant (it was the only thing that fit the context) but never knew why. Thanks for the explanation, now it won't bother me anymore.

While his peers and fans praised Freel’s headfirst approach throughout an eight-year career in the major leagues, which he deemed necessary to compensate for being undersize and less talented
