How much does the college football playoff or whatever it is lengthen their season? i guess it could have something to do with that, too.

I don't think the season is any longer, at least in this current incarnation. Semi-finals on New Year's Eve and the final a week later around the same time the BCS Championship game has been. Right?

Roger Goodell confirmed Tuesday at the NFL's spring meetings in Boston that the draft will be moved to May in 2014, sometime between the 8th and 17th of the month.

Goodell said the change was needed next year because the venue, Radio City Music Hall, will host an Easter show in April.

"At this late stage, for us to do it the right way, we don't see having any choice but to move the date," he said.

However, Goodell said he expects the draft to remain in May, with other adjustments to the NFL's calendar, including the dates for the combine and the opening of free agency, to be discussed with the players' union.

Because there aren't 100 other venues in the country that could host the draft?

Bingo... I wish they would move around on draft night. Like every year they would move to a city with a NFL team and host the draft in that city. I'm tired of seeing the freaking Giants/Jets fans there just booing EVERYTHING every single year.

When I walk by RCMH on draft night, those lines are littered with fans wearing jerseys from every single team out there. NYC is filled with fans from all around, and surrounded by several other fan bases. I think the league likes having that much representation, and you just aren't going to get anything close in most NFL cities. The draft in KC or Seattle is going to be a dud. You can probably build in a rotation similar to the Super Bowl, with 5 or 6 cities. But the other thing to consider is the draft is boring as hell and anybody who willingly attends is a moron. They've managed to convince enough morons to attend at RCMH and may fear a lack of attendance if they move it and have to herd a new flock of morons.

Plus the NFL Head Offices are in NYC I believe, so it just make sense logistically.

They are like 2 blocks away from the hall.

Kyle Long as a 3rd rounder eh?

I think it really shows that with some players, there is a huge difference in how teams value them.

Also of note is a lot of the players the Cowboys didn't even have on the board such as Mathieu, Montgomery, Eleam, etc.

They also had a 4th rd grade on E.J. Manuel.
