I'm thinking that tie is better for the Rams than the 49ers.

"moral victories" just cost you draft picks. All the tiebreakers at the end of the season will be a little less confusing.

Oh, Rams left too much time.

Yeah, what was with Fisher running to call the timeout with 1:13 left? They had all 3 timeouts and were on the 2 yard line.

 

This is what cost the Rams the game, IMO. Run the play clock all the way down before calling the time out. That or force SF to stop the clock with one of their two remaining TO's. They had 4 tries to go 2 yards. Stopping the clock with 1:13 left was inexcusable. I think they definitely needed to use a time out to discuss a plan of action, but waste every possible second allowable before calling it.

 

Maybe SF still gets into field goal range with only 1 time out and/or only 40 seconds to work with, but to give them more than a minute and two time outs is on the coaching staff on this one.

Considering they took Michael Haynes and Rex Grossman in the first round that year it might not have been a bad idea.

He did, then Quinn got a concussion. Unless you mean for Ricky Stanzi?

Talking about the play in OT.

 

Really though, Cassel is garbage and needs to be far away from this team.
