Many pages ago I had specifically wondered out loud why teams weren't trying to foul lbj hard and get into his head with mind games. The Bulls executed this type of strategy perfectly tonight. James was clearly affected by the hard fouls and even though he stuffed the stat sheet he didn't factor much at the end and commited a huge blunder of a foul.

Great coaching job by Thibs and Butler's growth is a nice thing to watch.

Very cool win and I love the Heat being pissed, but man, I wish LeBron had cold-cocked that idiot.

Yeah ask Ron artest how that works out. I kind of like watching LeBron play, don't really want to see him suspended for a year.

Regardless, screw that fan. Makes bulls fans look bad.

Oh agreed, just saying I'm glad LeBron is level headed enough to take the high road.

The streak, while impressive, was just a thing for ESPN to talk about in an otherwise par-for-the-course NBA season. If Miami fails to win the title, no one will remember the streak. Hell, who here knew the Lakers held the record?

Bill Simmons said this was the first regular season game that transcended the regular season since Jordan left

Was he talking about the game or the streak?

The game

I rewound and watched him say it again, he was talking about the streak, not the game.

He said this thing (the streak) is the first thing to transcend the regular season since Jordan returned in 1995. Then he said that's why this game was so great because it was the end of the streak. He did not say that this game transcended the regular season.

Same thing with the Blackhawks streak though. Didn't make it any less fun as a fan.

I'm still in shock. One of the most dramatic regular season games I've ever seen. Congrats to the Heat, that streak was just spectacular.

And kudos to Chicago's crowd for what they did tonight. So much pride and they undeniably affected the game. That's a great basketball city.

“I believe, and I know that a lot of my fouls are not basketball plays,” James said. “First of all, Kirk Hinrich in the first quarter basically grabbed me with two hands and brought me to the ground.

“And, you know, the last one, Taj Gibson was able to collar me around my shoulder and bring me to the ground. Those are not basketball plays. It’s been happening all year, and I’ve been able to keep my cool, and try to tell Spo not to worry about it too much.

“But it is getting to me a little bit. Because every time I try to defend myself, I have to face the consequences of a flagrant or a technical foul.”

"It's been happening all year, and I've been able to keep my cool and try to tell Spo, 'Let's not worry about it too much.' But it is getting to me a little bit because every time I try to defend myself, I got to face the consequences of a flagrant for me or a technical foul, whatever the case may be," James said. "It's tough. It's tough. It's very tough, and I'm not sitting here crying about anything because I play the game at a high level. I play with a lot of aggression, and I understand that some of the plays are on the borderline of a basketball play or not, but sometimes you just got to ... I don't know. It's frustrating."

Still doesn't change what I said. He said that the game was great, but the "transcending the regular season" comment was about the streak, not the game.

ETA: I am a Bulls fan and I strongly dislike the Heat, as much as nearly any team in pro sports. I'm just being honest about what he said and trying not to be a homer.

LeBron was whining to the media about the hard fouls....looks like the Bulls need to start doing this to him more often. Anything to get to his insecure head.

It's really a surprise to me that the Bulls are the team to break the streak.

Why?

Because he's Soul.

Thaaat's right.

Not that I didn't like to see it, but I don't blame LeBron for getting a little testy. I remember Rose and the Bulls getting agitated by the hard fouls from Dwight Howard a few years back.

For as great as it was to see The Heat lose last night and Lebron lose his cool and complain, there still isn't a team that can beat them in a 7 game series come playoff time. I don't think the just crush LBJ everytime he gets to the lane is a strategy that will net you 4 wins in a series, might get you 1 or 2, unless you actually hurt him. Plus you know with these comments he's put the league on notice and he will likely get even more calls now and probably even get a few more intentionals drawn on guys.

And I wish we could transplant this Heat team back to 1989 and have them play the Pistons. Then they'd really know what a hard fould was all about.

Teams have been beating the [expletive] out of Lebron for the last 5 years.

Look at the conspiracy theories being pushed forward on here over the past 2 years about how Derrick was getting fouled every 8 seconds.

Once Rose and Rip come back, starting guards are Rose and Butler?

I don't think Rip is coming back.

Probably Rose too.

Yep, neither of those guys will be playing this season.
