Luck with 273 yards in the first half

418 early in the fourth. He's got a shot at 500 for the game.

Doug Martin has 244 yards against the Raiders today.

What a stupid fake FG call there. If you want the TD, just go for it. The kicker doesn't play running back for a reason.

And it was so very predictable. No one blocks extra points anyway, why wouldn't they play the fake?

Raiders putting up a fight could give Martin a shot at the single-game rushing record.

Tampa just had two straight delay of game penalties, the second of which they weren't even lined up when the clock hit 0.

Raiders getting the ball back at their own 38 with 2:42 left.

EDIT: And Palmer throws a game-ending pick. Terrible pass.

Martin just lost about 14 yards on three carries on the final drive, dropping his total from the eighth highest single-game mark to tied for the 10th highest.

1. Seems like every year, there is a team that comes roaring out of the gate and goes on a long winning streak to start the year. 2011 it was the Packers, this year it will be the ATLANTA FALCONS. Start off with all 4 mediocre AFC West teams, with Carolina and Washington thrown in. Bring back their complete offensive team. Their toughest stretch of the season (@ Philly, @ NO, vs. Dallas) comes after their bye week. Falcons sweep thru and start 10-0.

2. The disaster that is 2012, continues for the Saints. The team struggles on defense and eventually is dealt a season-ending blow with Drew Brees going down for several weeks. Also lose Sproles and Jimmy Graham for extended periods of time.

3. AJ Green becomes a stud. Not quite Megatron 2011 numbers, but AJ puts up 85-90 catches, 1400-1500 yards and 12+ TDs.

4. Chris Johnson is back. Wins his first rushing title since the 2K season. Puts up over 1600 yards (only MJD got over 1400 last year).

5. Year of the mobile QB! Mobile QBs actually win some games for their teams this year, as Jake Locker and Russell Wilson lead their teams to the playoffs. Cam Newton falls just short of the wildcard for 9-7 Carolina.

6. The Steelers put up an inconsistent season on both sides of the ball and they have in-season locker room distractions from Roethlisberger, Wallace, Harrison, etc. for the first time, all separately complaining about coaching, schemes, and playing time. Finish 7-9.

7. With Tom Brady taking too many hits by midseason, the Patriots take to the running game by committee, rushing for over 2100 yards as a team, good for top 8 in the NFL.

8. Eli Manning adds another notch to his belt by winning the regular season passing title for the first time in his career.

9. Five IN. Five OUT. Every year there's about 5 new teams that make the playoffs that weren't in the previous year. This year. OUT= Steelers, Broncos, Lions, 49ers, Saints. IN= Bears, Titans, Eagles, Raiders, Seahawks.

10. Ravens beat the Falcons in Super Bowl.

My Week 1 Bold predictions for the season. Let's see how they're doing at the halfway point of the season.

1. In a close one tonight, but so far dead on with this prediction.

2. Pretty close on this one too. Saints are terrible on defense and having a disasterous year. Sproles is going to be out for an extended period of time. Graham has already missed a game and most of another. Though is back, so not extended....yet.

3. AJ Green on pace for 101 catches, 1454 yards, 16 TDs

4. Chris Johnson had a rough start, but has been solid the last 4. He's quietly 8th in rushing, not getting 1600 yards though and probably not a rushing title.

5. Locker's not starting, Cam's going nowhere, Wilson though has a good chance to take Seattle to the playoffs.

6. Steelers haven't faltered despite several key injuries

7. NE is 5th in yards per game on the ground, not necessarily because of Brady taking hits though.

8. Eli's a not-to-distant 3rd in passing so far

9. Bears = So far so good. Rest = UGH.

10. Still possible, the Ravens are a playoff team, but may be the 5th best AFC team (Pats, Steelers, Texans, Broncos).

5. Locker's not starting

For what it's worth, Locker's only not starting because he's hurt. It's not a benching or anything.

We'd suck with him, though, so he's not leading us to the playoffs.
