His knee is still bothering him, and it's clearly impacting his accuracy on anything downfield.

It's really too bad, the offense only needs to be average for Mizzou to be a good team, but injuries have robbed them of any chance of that.

Well then, maybe they should play the backup then. He cost Mizzou this game. The defense played incredible.

Berkstresser has unfortunately been worse. He was about as good as Franklin was today, except he was playing Kentucky at home and got pulled in the 3rd quarter.

Franklin on one leg > Berkstresser

Yikes.

The quarterback situation at Missouri has been devolving since Chase Daniel.

What is your assessment of where Franklin is? Is the injury dragging him down or has he taken a step back?

Michigan State's QB just did the smartest throw away pass I've ever seen at any level. When you're near the sideline, just toss the ball past the line of scrimmage.

I know it's not likely, but Mike Thomas needs to can Beckman.

And then can himself.

After the mess Guenther left him I think you have to give him sometime before you think about firing him.

I know, but he really botched the two most important hires for any college athletic program.

I'm pretty happy with Groce. His recruiting has been top notch thus far and he hasn't coached a game yet, how was that a botch?

We will see and I hope I am wrong. I just felt like they put all their eggs in the Shaka Smart basket and then had to scramble to find a second-tier coach to take the job.

Knd of like when we put all our eggs in the Kelvin Sampson basket and then he blew it by announcing his meeting with us before RG wanted to and we had to settle for bill self? Relax man the biggest part about coaching is recruiting. He's doing that very well thus far.

I think it's difficult to say. He missed the whole summer and the Arizona State game with the shoulder issue, and now the knee has caused him to miss 2+ games and he's still not 100%. So even if he gets physically back to things, he's missed a lot of development time as well. The offensive line being in shambles(Britt appears to be out for the year now, hilariously) doesn't help the evaluation either. I'm not willing to assign a percentage to how much is injuries/circumstances/development/regression, but I don't think he's beyond repair either. That said, I think Franklin might be a tweener that does everything okay and nothing really great. Personally, I'd rather have an immobile surgeon throwing the ball or a running back with primitive passing ability, as it gives you a clear strength to play to. That's why I'm anxious to see if Mauk can live up to his HS performance a little bit. I doubt he'll unseat Franklin, but I think by the end of next year he may be the best QB option on the team.

Nice pass interference call there to keep nd in this game.

Criminal. Disgraceful. I'm sure ND will win and Mariners will come in talking trash but it should be a 14 point lead right now.

Edit: even Mayock said it was a bad call

I thought it looked like PI live. After the replay...not so much.
