What are your thoughts?

For me it's hard to judge given the lack of talent, but I don't think he handled the bullpen very well and I don't really care for his comments after the game, he comes of like a prick. I do think he either was told or learned that "aggressive" doesn't necessarily mean stealing bases. At the beginning of the season he ran the Cubs into a lot of outs, but that nonsense went away rather quickly. Overall, I don't think he distinguished himself in anyway good or bad so I guess I have to give him a gentleman's C.

Sveum was great, A++

This. Love that he is very good at the one strategic thing a manager can impact in a positive way, defensive positioning.

i have no idea how to judge how he handled the bullpen, since everyone in it sucked so much that things like "see what happens if shawn camp makes 130 appearances" suddenly make sense.

i like the defensive shifts a lot. the lineups didn't seem horrible. samardzija only pitched too long a couple times. B+

Yeah, I don't see the justification for over the top praise, I think B+ might make sense.

I just wish he had an actual good team to manage so more people would realize how solid he is.

I highly doubt it will happen with our FO, but I hope he doesn't end up being run out of town as a sacrificial lamb for the first couple years of this process.

A-, exceptional work given the circumstances but room for improvement next year. And in a few years when he actually has a league average team I can't wait to see what can happen in the craptastic NL Central.

dale should win a special award for those managers who obviously had no help at all from their parents, i mean front office

Solid A

Defensive alignment was nice to see. Daily lineups were a questionable at times (Valbuena, Mather early on). His bullpen sucked so it's hard to find much fault there. Likewise for the rotation.

Looks like the Cubs already found their fall guy for the 101 loss season, as they let 3B coach Pat Listach go, per Bruce Miles tweet.
