Sweep these [expletive].

And by "sweep", you mean lose all 3, correct?

No, I like when my team wins.

I have a hard time rooting for meaningless wins at this stage when they could mean the difference between the 2nd and the 3rd or possibly 4th pick. There is a decent chance that the difference between 2 and 4 will be negligible, but there is a 100% chance that any wins for the rest of the season are meaningless.

The difference between 2nd and 3rd probably won't be bad, but getting the 4th pick would suck when there are clearly 3 top pitchers before a drop-off.

Last year around this time someone asked Callis for his 2012 top 5. His answer was a clear top 4 of Marrero(24th), Buxton(2nd), Appel(6th), and Giolito(16th). He also mentioned Diekroeger(4th round), and in a follow up question, McCullers(41st).

Pretty crazy how much it all changes in months.

Can someone explain to me why BJax hasn't been Playing much lately, especially tonight in a meaningless game?

He's had an illness and Sappelt is interesting enough to get some starts. De la Rosa is also really tough against lefties.

The nice thing about the Dave Sappelt bandwagon is that you can hop off for awhile and not worry about someone taking your seat when you get back on.

If the Dave Sappelt bandwagon crashes and nobody is around to hear it, does it still make a sound?

Yes. Like someone stepped on a duck.

Also Jackson can't hit.

So... the Cubs will have no problem avoiding 100 losses, right? Those games in Colorado will be so easy! I wouldn't be shocked if they don't win again until the final home series.

Why do you want them to win these games?

100 losses is an arbitrary number that impacts their future in no way. Draft slot and IFA money is an actual thing that will be impacted (however slightly) by the results of this game.

Even you wouldn't be against him getting regular AB's if he were fully healthy in the Cubs current situation.

I cannot even imagine how much Jackson will be talked about during the offseason on this board.

Pretty much. Theo was totally talking out of his rear end when he said how much he wants to avoid 100 losses. You know once they made the decision to sell (and probably before then) they wanted to take advantage of these new rules as much as possible.
