The whole situation is so insanely idiotic. It makes me so mad that this is still being discussed. I couldn't believe the questions Waddle and Silvy were asking Jay yesterday. It was almost insulting the way they asked the same question in a million different ways and are almost begging Cutler to say something quote worthy. Cutler should be given the Nobel Peace Prize for not decking Silvy on stage for some of those questions.

Why is this such a big deal? And I don't even think the meatheads Bears fans even care about this. I havent heard one person talk about the Webb/Cutler incident other then on the radio, tv and newspaper. Because its not a freaking big deal. But I have heard someone on one of the national ESPN shows the other day criticizing Chicago fans for being so hard on Cutler. Just because the media has a hardon for something doesnt mean the majority of Bears fans even give two [expletive].

There was nothing wrong with the questions they asked him.

The only thing I take issue with is the national media taking snippets out of context to push their agenda.

I didn't think they were necessarily wrong questions per se, but I was annoyed at how many different ways they were asking the same questions. I don't feel bad for Cutler or anything because I'm sure he probably knew going in he was going to get grilled, but it got to the point where Cutler wasn't going to have anything else interesting to say about the incident and they were still finding ways to dig into him for more. I guess my annoyance comes from the fact that I cant stand how big of a deal this incident has been, and I don't think we needed to spend 40 minutes of an hour long show on the topic, especially when it sounds like Cutler specifically chose this forum to interact better with the fans, and he actually does have a lot of insightful things to say. It just felt wasted spending so much time discussing something like that.

You are an angry individual.

I think they asked the questions that some people wanted to hear and listening to Cutler answer them and joke around, it makes you like him more. Lets face it, Cutler chose to do this show because he wanted to improve his image. That is the only explanation for him even doing this much interacting with people/media.

"The way I look at it is this could be a very defining week in our season, and it's only (Week 3)," Gould said on "Football Night In Chicago" on ESPN 1000. "If you look at the situation as a whole, this is the exact moment I think that this team becomes as close as they possibly can.

"Because there are a lot of new faces. There are a lot of new guys in our locker room. And I think it's a defining moment for us, because if this lingers into (Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams), I think this could potentially be an issue that is going to need to be re-addressed. And we're going to have to go back to the basics and maybe evaluate it in a different way than it's already been handled."

"I think the best thing that we did this weekend was come in Saturday for film, instead of sitting on that loss for four days and coming in Monday and watching the film," Gould said. "We were able to come in and address the situation, not only from a loss standpoint but also be able to take care of the Jay Cutler-J'Marcus Webb situation in-house.

"I think it's a perfect situation for us to handle it amongst our teammates, to handle it (in)the locker room and say, 'Listen, this isn't tolerated, this isn't going to be tolerated, we're going to become a tighter knit group, we're going to do things together, we're going to do it as one, and not as individuals.' And the other part of it too is not only will it make the team grow, but I think if you look at the long-term effects it will have on a team like the Bears, with what I think is a very mature and older group of gentlemen in that locker room, I think it's going to make our team that much better on Sunday and the rest of the year."

''[He's] not the first quarterback to do that. A quarterback that's got a chance to lead a football team and win games has to take that position. So I think you guys, or whoever's generating this stuff, ought to back off and let him play.''

I REALLY like Jeff Fisher. Hearing him on Stl radio quite a bit, he's pretty good at what he does.

I am glad someone said that. I agree with UMF, this whole thing is ridiculous. My favorite thing I saw this week was the CBS pregame show. They had Marino and Cowher discussing how Jay Cutler needs to change and it was wrong of him to do what he did. While Marino is speaking, the CBS producers cut to video of him (Marino) tearing into teammates on the sideline back when he played... then a video of him tearing into two assistant coaches on the sideline.

Every quarterback does this. Brady, Manning, etc. Marino was famous for it--except when they do it, it is totally acceptable. I don't understand why Cutler is such a lightning rod for criticism.

Pretty sure Marino wasn't running for his life in those games, also.

His "All-You-Can-Eat" Ribs for $16 are pretty good.

The incident was last Thursday. I get it: there was a story there, a QB bumping his OT in anger.

But to harp on it non-stop for a week? It is plainly ridiculous. Media out-of-control.

And Moore: you better play like an all-pro, that's all I've got to say. I'm expecting game-changing performances, or else get lost.

http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bears/post/_/id/4678276/barkley-cutler-needs-to-win-big-to-be-liked

"For some reason people don't like them and until they win big, every little thing they do is going to be over-criticized," Barkley said on "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on ESPN 1000. "Same thing with LeBron (James). There are certain people that the media just don't like ... We've all yelled at coaches and players in the heat of the moment. Is it something personal? No, it's a very emotional game."

"Players don't care about that stuff," Barkley said. "It's the people in the media that keep it going. They want to keep it going because, especially in football, you've got a whole week in between games and there's nothing going on. It makes great 'Who's side are you on?' (debate). But players don't think about that. They always talk about bulletin board material. If I had a coach who sucked so bad he had to bring me something somebody said about me on TV or in the newspaper, I'd punch him in the head."

I'm not seeing the Lebron comparison, cuz there's very unique reasons behind the Lebron hate. But generally I agree.
