I like to lurk the opponents message boards the week of each game. And not surprisingly, you have to sort through a lot of rubbish to get to good posts. There was some pretty level heads in that thread for the most part though.

Yea, I wasn't attempting to ridicule them. Was just happy to see our offense be fearful.

#Bears QB Jay Cutler on Packer DBs being physical with WRs. Now? "Good luck. We invite press coverage. We invite man."

haha...Jay cracking up the media. They were trying to figure out how many passes Marshall would catch this year...Jay: "Not a bunch of math majors in here I see."

I'd love to know what scene Grobstein was causing.

Apparently Telander's cell phone went off during the PC, and then later it was Grobstein and Telander arguing about the math...hilarious.

Bears are getting cocky I see. Should be a great game.

I used to post on that message board back in 07 I think. A lot of posters there were pretty level headed and at times had some Cub fan level fatalism which is strange because it is a much more successful franchise than the Cubs though I suppose every message board has that element to it. People can a little crazy when it comes to something they care about that is completely out of their control.

I'm sure discussion on Green Bay Packers message boards is fascinating though.

I thought I remember in camp that one of the things the coaching staff was most impressed by out of Jeffrey was his ability to beat press coverage. Anyone else remember this or am I halucinating again?

I'm really happy about that deep ball Alshon caught in Game 1. I think not only is it a huge confidence booster for a young WR, but it makes the other opponents worry about something else.

Alshon is a huge X-factor moving forward and can be the main reason why we will win this game.

The "Bears got better when Freeney got hurt" theory is really getting around...

It probably should. That line was brutal early and really benefited from him leaving.

If by early you mean 4 plays, then you're right. The OL was pretty much fine after the pick 6. Actually, they were fine on the first 3rd down. It was a bad snap, Cutler had time but freaked out about the time lost picking up the snap. Hell, now that I think about it, on the first play, Kellen Davis was the one assigned to blocking Mathis, who got the sack. Not that the rest of the OL didn't collapse on that play too, but that sack wasn't on the OL, technically. Freeney was nowhere near that sack either, FWIW.

Oh and for the record, Jerry Hughes (Dwight Freeney's replacement) is probably a better fit as a 3-4 OLB (played some at TCU) than Freeney is. Not that it matters much because obviously Freeney is the better player and pass rusher, but Hughes was a former 1st round pick, playing in what should be a more comfortable situation for him than it was for Freeney.

Urlacher didn't practice, but Lovie says that it was planned and that Urlacher is good to play on Thursday.

Tillman also didn't practice but is supposed to play. Green Bay could be without Greg Jennings and James Starks.

Packers defense looked absolutely terrible against San Fran. However, Cutler doesn't get rid of the ball nearly as fast as Smith does and they will have a chance or 2 to make a pick. I also think we will have a ton more pressure on Cutler. I hope we just put Tramon on Marshall and leave it at that, but that probably won't happen. Forte will be able to run wild. This should be a shoot out. Hopefully, the Packers defense makes a play or two or they will be 0-2 with 2 home losses and the world will be ending.

Yeah, when I saw the original post I was going to respond with something similar. Being as objective as possible, the game definitely seemed to turn once he was off the field.

Well, maybe. But if you are trying to find advantage in the idea that Smith does something better than Cutler, I think that's a losing line of thought. You'll be facing a far better QB this week, no question. A worse pass protection line....I'll concede that readily.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think this game could be a shootout, and if I'm Green Bay I think I would try to focus on Rodgers out-dueling Cutler, because I feel the offense is still in the plus column for Green Bay all things considered.
