Would've been really nice if the Lions had lost today. Oh well. Maybe GB will.

i dislike thursday night football. especially when it's a game i want to see.

Lucky for you, this is just about the only Thurs night game worth watching (besides Thanksgiving) on the schedule this year.

The blowout was great on so many levels, but it should really help Urlacher. He didn't look good at all today. I guess he was pissed that he was taken out, but he doesn't know what's best for him. Kind of like playing in week 17 last year.

Personally, I didn't think Urlacher was all that bad. As I said during the game, he was closing in on RBs and WRs with his usual quickness and he was dropping back quickly as well, although I didnt notice a lot of sideline to sideline movement, which is something people expected him struggle with.

He said his knee felt great, he did complain about the "stupid brace", but otherwise I think his trouble right now is just conditioning. Which is understandable.

After yesterday I figured the line for this game would come in a little from a 6-8 point spread, and GB would then cover. It's 5 now. I love that they won week 1 and that GB lost a home game. But as it pertains to this game I hate it. The old way of thinking about the more desperate team having the advantage, plus GB being at home and Chicago still working out the kinks makes me think they should take this one.

We'll see. The Bears defense seems to often, but not always, rise to the occasion against GB, so I think we have a decent enough shot at winning. But yes, the Packers absolutely do not want to start the season by losing consecutive home games. They are definitely the more desperate team here.

A 93 QB rating against the best defense in football is "awfully mortal"? He's going to shread the Bears. I'm thinking we can outscore their awful defense though.

The rating doesn't tell you much. He didn't look his best out there, and probably could have been picked a couple more times.

Even when he's not at his best, he's still damn good. And the Bears defense is not even as close to good as San Frans.

Rodgers had 2 games last season under 100 QB rating.

For Rodgers, this was very mortal.

In his last two games, he has completed 56 of 90 passes for 567 yards and four touchdowns with two interceptions, good for a pedestrian passer rating of 85.7.

Speaking of Rodgers, this is going to be an interesting week for him:

It was bad enough for Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers that his team lost its season opener, 30-22 to the San Francisco 49ers -- the team Rodgers wanted to play for when he was a kid. Adding insult to defeat is the fact that Rodgers, who is apparently a big fan of the group Boyz II Men, made a bet with one of the Boyz that could have him making a regrettable fashion choice.

According to TMZ, Rodgers asked Boyz II Men to sing the national anthem before the opener at Lambeau Field. Nathan Morris of the group laid a bet on the table. If the Packers lost the game, Morris proposed, Rodgers would have to wear a 49ers jersey through this entire week. Morris would have had to wear a Packers jersey through this week had Green Bay won, but he's not a professional football player -- he doesn't have to go to team meetings and film room and all other game-prep functions wearing the colors of the opposing team.

What the [expletive]? This is inexplicably like the third news item I've seen in a week that confirms that Boyz II Men even still exist, though at least this one also confirms Aaron Rogers is a melting-faced dope. Edited by Sammy Sofa

I wish it was a trend, but I don't think we can count on it continuing.

The Bears will hold the Packers to a reasonable point total as they have typically done, but the Bears now have the firepower to exceed theirs. Good luck to GB if they want to press cover our WRs all game like they like to do.

Also was under 100 QB rating for 2 of his last 3 regular season games last year. Only games all season that were under 100.

I don't think we can count on it, agreed. But I think there's definitely been a decline in his play. It's not massive, and he was playing at such a high level that a dip doesn't exactly mean he's playing like trash or anything. Just that I don't think he's as superhuman as he's appeared previously.

I'm glad that's settled.

The Bears have not scored more than 21 points at Green Bay since ’06 and they have been held to three points in two of the last four trips.
