What the heck is up with this only starting Vitters against lefties crap? He had an OPS of .805 against righties at AAA. It's not like he's completely helpless against righties. Vitters needs to be starting everyday.

I don't get Sveum's infatuation with Valbuena..It's sort of turning into the Baker, Neifi Perez situation. Vitters should be playing everyday.

Do you seriously think Sveum is acting alone on this? The front office has some reason for not wanting to start him every day right off the bat.

Goldstein speculated they want to see him have early success. I kind of agree, thinking they're protecting him and hoping he's possibly more tradable with a relatively decent looking line.

What's the point of protecting him? If they don't trust him to be an everyday player why bring him up. Let him work it out in AAA.

If they have to protect him from Ross [expletive] Ohlendorf who has a 5.05 xFip (Career 4.68) and -.1 WAR this year, Vitters isn't making it in the bigs

Also anybody got a link to this game? ;)

I have a really hard time buying the "let's platoon him to improve his trade value" thing. Front offices just aren't that dumb anymore.

yeah plus there just aren't that many LH starters, and i highly doubt that any team is going to pay a mint in the offseason for a hitter who OPS'ed .900 in 60 at bats against mostly opposide-side pitchers.

And why treat Jackson so differently? Leading him off against a lefty in the best pitchers park in baseball yesterday?

So every time that Jack In The Box ad is up behind the plate and an opposing player gets a hit, it's the company asking for the away team to get a hit, on screen as the ball is hit, and on most replays. I do not think this ad was well considered.

I swear every time I turn on a game that Everth [expletive] Cabrera is playing in, he does well. How is that possible?
