Boise's bus broke down in the middle of the night outside Pendleton, OR. They're on hour 5 of waiting and their backup bus is still 100 miles away. It's their second bus breakdown of the season.

Honest question, what constitutes a wave for you? I guess, I really don't consider waves until they are on the tip of a full season team, and possibly on a "track" (that is, a group of arms that move from one level to the next, largely with each other). I should be more positive, but I don't know if I see a wave. I see some intriguing pieces here and there, but some of the Arizona crop is likely to be bumped to the Boise track right now (that is, potentially headed to Peoria to start next year). In the current Boise crop, the only really interesting guy, IMO, is Arias. There's some hope for guys like Scott/Pugliese, but there's really a big step down from the potential of Arias to their potential. There's around maybe, 10 guys in Arizona that intrigue me as potential starters, but some will jump to Peoria, some will be headed to Boise, and some will probably be held back (there was some mild hype for Brian Smith a year ago, but he's still in Arizona).

I guess I've never really thought about the actual terminology, as to what it truly infers. To me, I guess I'm thinking a wave is a grouping, close together in ETA. Guys I guess I consider to be parts of our initial wave is everyone in A ball or lower currently. After another draft, maybe the waves start being looked at as one draft class to the next? Because a draft class/IFA group of Johnson, Blackburn, Underwood, McNeil, Conway, Lang, Prieto, Amlung(think he may wind up a good pick) and Paniagua is one hell of a group to add in one class.

The model for waves of pitching, I guess has to be Toronto. They've got groups of guys coming up levels together. Which you may be referring to, in more of a teaditional sense. We're so far behind that, I'm just thrilled we've got some exciting arms for a change.

Implies not infers

Baez with a single and a steal in the first.

Btw - has anyone noticed that Andreoli is quietly having a fine season (albeit with zero power)?

I really like that you're not wrong, and yet in his last 10 games he has 5 multi-hit games and an .823 OPS.

Brendan Harris plays for Colorado Springs. And proves that there's nothing for your stat line like going to altitude.

god, baez is such an exciting prospect. is he going to be our highest ranked guy since the patterson/choi/prior/cruz days? I guess Pie was way up there, too.

Castro was 12th by Baseball America a couple years ago.

Castro was number 16 in 2010, but otherwise you have to go back to 2005 to find someone make the Top 25. Tragically, that was Dopirak at #21.

yeah, i looked it up after i posted and was pretty happy to see that. i'm so spoiled with him that it seems like a 2-5 is a boring night.
