You Candelario haters.

.357/.400/.604/1.007 as an 18-year old in Boise. (Obviously SSS.)

He's fun, but I have a hard enough time staying excited about Baez when I realize he's as far away as he is.

While I'm excited about Baez, Josh Vitters had 15 Hr's in like 250 AB's in the Midwest league. So I wouldn't put too much into A ball statistics.

The same Josh Vitters who has 11 homers in 250 at bats at AAA? That guy?

I understand the point you're making, but it's safe to say most of us will be pretty disappointed of Baez actually ended up like Vitters.

I think he's a significantly better talent than him, though, so I'm not really worried about that.

Yes we would be, but it is still too early to write off Vitters at this point. I still think there is a chance he ends up being a decent big leaguer.

Yeah, the same Josh Vitters who has no plate discipline, 12 errors and up until last night hasn't posted an OPS of 800 or better since his stint in Peoria.

Yep, that guy.

You're the guy or girl who decided to use homers as the stat we should look at not me. So that's what I went with. That being said, he's been young at every level and promoted way too fast. And I hope you don't think that Baez is any better in the field than Vitters at this point.

I'm pretty sure he is, considering Baez MAY not be able to handle SS and end up at 3B (or, less likely 2B), while Vitters has been really close being deemed unable to handle 3B and having to move to 1B or OF.

Baez's OPS is also 20 points higher than Albert Pujols' OPS at Peoria, so maybe we should go crazy over him.

It's important to remember that many guys kill the ball in Peoria and don't pan out, but it isn't strictly the numbers on the page that have people justifiably excited about Baez.

Are you guys talking about Josh Vitters? The 22 year old that's been promoted waaaaaay too agressively every single time he's hit a hot streak, by the previous regime. The guy who's having a very solid season, both offensively and even defensively as well in AAA. The guy who may never be a superstar, but certainly appears to be capable of being at least a league average starting third baseman at this point. Sorry, but not every highly drafted high school kid becomes A-Rod. We should all be pleased with his progress right now. Again, this is IF, we're talking about that guy?

I think everybody knows who Josh Vitters is.

If you guys really wanted to put a wet blanket on all MWL stats, only one name is needed: Brian Dopirak.

This guy was damned exciting at Lansing.

Man, those were exciting times. WHY DID HE SKIP HIGH A, WHY? WHY? In a perfect world he would have been a highly sought after prospect the Cubs traded for something significantly better.

Really? Even that still seems a reach for me. It'd be one thing if he played great or even good defense, but he doesn't.

Fortunately, the Cubs were extremely patient with him and didn't promote him over-aggressively..

I'm certainly aware people know who he is, but I don't get why he's considered some failed prospect basically, when he's 22 and having a solid season in AAA. I'm not even a supporter of his, for the most part. But he catches too much flack considering his age. He's not going to be a stud, but he can still wind up an occasional AS possibly. It's like some people watched him fall off top 100 lists and immediately labeled him a bust.

I think one reason I wanted Buxton so damned much in the draft is that I think he'll become what I hoped for out of Corey.

I don't know if I can think of another prospect whose development curve was botched as much as Corey Patterson.
