I just noticed Russell Martin is going to be making an AAV of $19 million/yr for the next four seasons after this and my love for Miguel Montero just grew exponentially.

He and that team deserve each other.

 

Also if the Cubs ever had the chance to knock a Dusty-managed Marlins out of the playoffs one day, that might be one of the most cathartic moments of my sports fan life.

Did he suddenly realize "the right way to play the game"? Or is ok for him to do it, because he's cool or something?

I'm sure you guys have noticed, but Rich Hill's last start was the fifth best pitchers game in the AL by game score. 23 IP, 3 R, 10 hits, 30 Ks and 2 walks. Won't matter next year but a good story for a guy who was pitching in the Atlantic League a month ago.
