Wonder how much a difference this would make:

Jen Lada @JenLada

Here's a look at the Unequal™ protective shell in Noesi's hat. Made of a composite that contains Kevlar. #WhiteSox

Also, Bryce Harper in his 4th season is still the youngest player in the NL.

That's ridiculous

Kind of weird there is nobody younger than a guy turning 23 in five months.

I know Javy would be if he were up.

Last year Braves shortstop Andrelton Simmons made one of the best defensive plays of the year against the Mets' Travis d'Arnaud; he made almost the exact same play again recently this year, immediately following the TV broadcast's flashback to his previous play.

Ok, that's pretty damn cool.

Now I hope that bird gets hit by a bus.

That is quintessentially Cardinals. So much to celebrate, but unable to do so without a weird obsession about those teams that couldn't and don't claim to have been near as good.

Why is 2003 on there for us?

Why wouldn't it be?

It's almost as if they're rivals in a competitive sport or something.

The graphic by itself is nothing really, it's just emblematic of the fanbase's attitude as a whole. Our STL area posters likely know what I mean, there's a weird hang up about the Cubs that goes beyond 'they're our rivals, we want them to do poorly'.

white sox fans do it to, and they're not even rivals. i think our team is just easy to hate on, and doing so is a vibrant cottage industry

I don't know; I see that about them or the Reds or the White Sox a lot, and it just seems like a real "so what?"-kind of deal. It's not like it really transcends the context of "this team is our team's rival, so therefore we will mock them" so it never really seems like it goes beyond anything you'd expect from rival fans, and the whole "they care more about hating the Cubs than their own team" rings about as true as rival fans complaining about there aren't any real Cubs fans and it's just a bunch of tourists and drunks who don't care about baseball. Baseball rivalries are petty things, and hey, good on them for getting a good dig in. Like it was said, I can't wait for the Cubs to finally be in a position to do something similar.
