Betances picked up his 131st and 132nd strikeouts of the season on Tuesday night in a 3-2 win over the Tampa Bay Rays, breaking Rivera's team record of 130 strikeouts as a reliever. While Rivera needed 107⅔ innings reach his mark, Betances has pitched 87⅔.

At the end of the day on August 10, they were 72-45, four games up on the Angels (their largest lead in a month) and 10 games up on a playoff spot. Since then, they've gone 11-23 and have dropped 15.5 games to the Angels, who are 27-8 in that span.

Soto has this super-OCD way of throwing the ball back to the pitcher after a pitch. He drops to both knees and lobs it back like a trebuchet, then palms the dirt in front of home plate and smears it around. It's so odd. Has anyone else seen this? Did he develop the Knoblauch yips or something?
