Atlanta?

Not quite, it opened in 1996, so it's the 4th oldest park in the NL. Obviously time to get a new park.

It's Coors, right?

Correct, Coors Field opened in 1995.

I just got two tickets off StubHub behind the Brewers dugout for $27 total to see Giancarlo Stanton tonight. Brewers fans have completely abandoned ship.

Hard to blame them.

Amaro: "Misconception" that #Phillies don't use analytics. "First thing out scouts do is look at a stat sheet."

Found a leaked leaked image of Phillies stat sheet that scouts use:

The Wilpons are challenging Loria as worst owner in baseball.

So, this happened.

On MLBN they were discussing the possibility of Donaldson winning a gold glove while leading all 3B in errors and Harold said he would "throw up" if they gave a GG to someone leading his position in errors.

He said he'd give it to Machado for his 60 games before giving it to Donaldson. They then showed a graphic of players who had won gold gloves while leading the league in errors at their position, and Reynolds won it 3 times while leading 2B in errors. Then they asked him if it made him throw up.

That is terrific. I would pay to watch.

The Gold Glove Award has become a real joke. Palmeiro won the Gold Glove in the late 90's and played less than 30 games at first. And Jeter won so many because he was simply a Yankee. Sad, because it used to have meaning.

"has become?"

you just referenced something that happened 15 years ago.

i don't recall it ever having any real meaning but it at least seems to be going to deserving players more often than it used to (and less often to outrageously undeserving players like it used to)

"you don't recall?". Expand your baseball knowledge. It did not begin with you being hatched.

It had meaning when people were generally completely uninformed about what really made baseball players valuable.

I was watching, it was great. Reynolds chewed on a pen the rest of that segment. Smoltz tried to throw him a bone by saying he probably had the most chances and HR agreed that yeah he was sure he did. Bo Porter was on and defended Donaldson's errors by saying that they've had a lot of first basemen and wondered how many of his errors are throwing. He thinks Beltre is the best though.

Amsinger has debated him a lot about Donaldson and Harold does his standard "I'm sorry (he always says that) but you can't lead the league in errors and win the gold glove. I'm saying, it just can't happen. I'm sorry."

The only bad part is I think someone in his ear tipped him off that they were going to show that graphic. It was after they'd been going for a few minutes that Amsinger asked Porter if he'd have a problem with a guy leading the league in errors winning the GG. Harold said "I did that once, had 25 errors..". Then Amsinger said something like you actually did that 3 times and they threw the graphic up. He didn't really backtrack just went with nonsense about how it's the type of errors that matter and he watches Donaldson every night. Decision making matters, etc.

Stanton just got hit in face by a Brewers pitcher, it's ugly. He went down and they had to cart him off the field out of the batters box. Looks like it was his jaw/cheek area.

that was ugly. i hope he's ok.

he ain't pretty no more, though.

The Brewers announcer said something to the effect as they carted him of the field of "Stanton was bleeding so bad the groundskeepers are now cleaning up blood from around home plate."
