Mark Grace taking a leave of abscence from the Diamondbacks booth. Says he needs "personal assistance." Don't care much for him as a broadcaster, but hope he can get his life together.

He just needs a big ole slump buster.

The Phillies really don't match up well with a '90s Night promotion. Their current uniforms are a living relic from 1993, so they drag out the ones from 1991 - which were slightly modified versions of the jerseys they wore throughout the 1970s and 1980s. The Reds had their own terrible mid-'90s uniform, but since they set 1991 as the reference, they also wore uniforms that are associated more with their glory years in the 1970s than anything that happened in the 1990s.

what struck me about those reds unis is that the names on the back were ENORMOUS. larger than the lettering on the front of the unis, and the last name "CHAPMAN" almost spilled over onto the sleeves. looked pretty dumb.

I'm getting an earful in one of my fantasy leagues about how Strasburg shouldn't be babied and should be let go to pitch as many innings as he wants BECAUSE YOU GO FOR THE GLORY WHEN YOU HAVE THE CHANCE GOD DAMNIT even though the Nats sans Strasburg is still a championship caliber team

UPDATE: Grace's leave of absence is tied to a second DUI after an arrest on Thursday night, in addition to Grace driving on a suspended license from his first DUI and driving without an interlock device, which was required after that first DUI

Agreed. Teams have won the WS with a worse top 3 than Zimmerman, Gonzalez, Jackson and the ]Detwiler (if they need a 4th)

What happens if two teams are tied for the second wild card?

Totally washed up and not worth his contract, right?

"Maybe he should hit when it counts in April and May before his team is out of contention" -Barry Rozner, Kapman, and Cubs facebook page fans.

They are talking on BF.net about Aramis possibly winning the gold glove. He ranks 2nd in the NL in UZR/150 behind Wright (8.3 v 10.7), Tied for 2nd with Headley for UZR behind Wright (4.3 v. 7.3), he's third in rzr at .753 behind Headley .756, and Freese .784, and most importantly what the voters look at most he leads the NL and all of baseball in fielding% at .974 and has only made 6 errors which also is the fewest in all of baseball. Add in he's having a good year offensively (which always seems to come into play) I think he has a chance.
