Yeah, he missed that ball by a foot.

Whatever, got him anyway.

It's still a four-run lead. But so much for some nice, no-pressure innings on our mop-up guys.

Samardzija completely hit the wall at 80 pitches today. And he ended up going 100+ today, so I fear the next thing his next start.

Serious question for Kyle and TT: At what point during the season and what kind of numbers need to be put up, for either of you to acknowledge Stewart and LaHair as decent players?

To what end? I'm glad LaHair is off to a good start, but even with a full season of strong offensive numbers, I can't be sold on him as a fixture at 1B. After that you're looking at more than a season and LaHair is about to turn 32 and on the decline. That's my biggest problem, is that there isn't much payoff to gambling(as much as you can call it a gamble with no other options) on LaHair.

he turns 32 after the 2015 season.

2014 season, so I was mistaken, he'd be 31 after next year. Same point applies. He's wrapping up his prime while we still can't be certain of his production.

I was just curious. I think both fit directly in to the approach of "sell higher than you bought for". Part of me thinks both could be here for a while, only if LaHair can play LF obviously. But both could enhance their value quite a bit this season.

And only a few months older than Carlos Pena was when he got his shot with the Rays.

Carlos Pena was a 1st round pick who was the #5 prospect in MLB when he reached the high minors, in addition to being the exception that proves the rule.

Shark battled today, without his best stuff. Certainly wish he didn't have that 5th inning, but he'll be fine. Would love to see him have a 6 or 7 inning game next time out, keeping it at 90ish pitches or so.

I think he'll be here for a while. For a front office that historically loves finding undervalued players, you can't get more undervalued than LaHair.

Another steal for Starlin.

If he legitimately has added this to his arsenal, which it appears he has, he is going to be a [expletive] monster of a player.

Castro's hit boosted him to an .845 OPS, which is 4th in the current lineup.

The offensive numbers are all suddenly looking great.

Gotta love small sample sizes.
