IU has a lot of ball handlers though. Yogi, Hulls, Oladipo....

Oladipo can do about anything, but ball handling isnt a strength from what i've seen.

Great win tonight for SLU. Beating Butler will be the road win they lacked to be a top 15-20 team. Basically a defensive team without any real stars.

He was the primary ball handler last year in the second half of the season. He's not going to be a PG anytime soon but he is so fast with the ball that he's hard to press.

Most excitement surrounding SLU since Kenyon Martin broke his leg and they backdoored through the CUSA Tournament.

I don't know. Last year was pretty exciting. Got a W and played a good game against a high profile team and #1seed in MSU. Sweet 16 this year would be... Sweet I guess.

Which of your 5'10" PGs is a future NBA player?

Yogi Ferrell is an NBA player.

Silly IU fans thinking Victor Oladipo is an NBA player, huh?

I know the talking heads at ESPN love him, I still don't think he's going to be much of an NBA player.

Well, we shall see if he is "much" of an NBA player. He may not be; but he will play in the NBA (which is all I said).

True, is he going to be a two guard?

That's true. I'm going to try and attend the La Salle game. I've never been to a college basketball game and there wasn't enough money to get me to a attend a Billikens game during the unfortunate Soderberg era.

He's about as pure of a point guard as you'll find. His size is obviously going to be an issue but it's not preventative. Players in his size range are regularly drafted, even in the first round.

Oladipo a point guard? That's who I can't see being a great pro, not sure what he is at that level.

Exile thought you meant Yogi. I don't see how Oladipo doesn't fit in as a 2. Size is about right. He certainly has the athleticism to guard 2's. His ball handling is only average, but his rebounding and steals should be above average for that position. It remains to be seen if he can continue to shoot so well from the perimeter, but he has the athleticism to be at least a solid 3rd/4th option offensively, being good to very good defensively, and having upside for better than that.

Oh. He's certainly not remotely ready to be an NBA point guard (nor do I think he ever will be). His size is not necessarily abnormal for two-guards, when coupled with his length and athleticism. But it wouldn't shock me if he merely settled into a Tony Allen-esque career.

Oladipo looks like a good backup. Ferrell has a long way to go before he's cracking a NBA rotation.

I agree with both of these thoughts. I guess maybe the Allen comparisons aren't that far off, they're similar in size.

I think Yogi's going to be an NBA PG. Kid was a McDonalds All American, is going to be a 3, or most likely, 4 year starter at a big time program, is a great passer, a good defender, and will be a pretty good shooter. He's a better shooter than Telfair (39% career from field). He's a better passer and rebounder. And he'll be All B1G defensively once Aaron Craft is gone.

That being said, Telfair was a potentially dynamic "scorer" coming out and was drafted 13th overall. I think Yogi will be an NBA player, but I can't see him being more than early-to-mid 2nd round pick and a backup PG

He's played his way into the lottery for sure, though.
