Suckiest thing about this game is Appling was basically a no-show last game and Oladipo was near a 1-man show. With Appling not likely to get in foul trouble super quickly at home and Oladipo a little gimpy, IU is going to have to find a completely different way to win. On the positive, Zeller and Sheehey didn't really do a ton offensively, though Zeller had some big plays late.

 

Gotta defend the 3 and keep Dawson and Nix off the offensive glass.

The officiating in this game has been comically bad. Apparently you can foul a guy's elbow with your face and have a technical called on the elbower at the same time. Now NBA continuation rules are in effect after non-charge calls that should have been called. Also, I think this might turn into a tackle football game before it's over. They're not calling much around the basket but seem to be calling ticky tack stuff out high.

yes, much like the committee i'm not going to put a ton of stock in one head to head game.

 

i'm not trying to brag up isu at all. they have a rough road to making the tourney and i'm pretty iffy on whether they can do it. but in he 77 brackets at the bracket matrix, isu is in 73 of them. iowa is in 7. it's not like i'm takin some crazy biased homer position on this.
