What's worse, being down 20 at halftime to Gardner Webb or beating them in the last few seconds?

Neither are anything to crow about.

I bet the illini announcers made complete asses of themselves by getting excited about the comeback.

At least they didn't storm the court like the Kansas announcers, early in the second half.

I've seen parts of all the Wisconsin games, they are incredibly average and could lose to Virginia. Dekker and Berggren are the only two guys who are any good and Dekker is going to be very good. Brust's stats look nice now, but he's only put them up against the [expletive] teams on their schedule (Presbyterian, Cornell, SE Louisiana) and has played awful in the three games against good-decent teams when he goes up against actual D1 talent (Florida, Creighton and Arkansas). They're playing in the Kohl Center. That's worth half a dozen points right there. Pomeroy has it as an 85% Badger win. Granted, his system LOVES Bucky.

As the resident Creighton fan, I have to say how giddy I am after this past weekend, beating Wisky by 10 and Arizona State by 14. Granted, neither team is ranked and are likely middle of the pack BCS teams, but it's impressive to me that the Jays go up against these teams and see that they are not only the more talented team, but that our players/coaches/fans now expect to win these types of games. Doug McDermott is a heck of a player, and is the primary reason for this potentially special season, but that team has talent up and down the roster.

On a side note, that Sam Dekker kid is going to be really good, really soon.

That's true. But just from what I've seen, if Virginia is even a mediocre team this year like NIT/Bubble team talent level (and I have no idea if they are) they will give Wisconsin a game. I bet it will be within 10. I don't see it being a sure win, be it at the Kohl Center or not, they just aren't very good this year outside of Dekker and Berggren.

For those that have the ability to watch on Wednesday I do recommend you tune in for at least a bit to see Dekker play, he's very exciting and only a freshman.

What a terrible win. Lot of work to do still before big ten.

A win's a win. We're a flawed team, but at least we kept the bad loss off our resume. We have to improve against the zone though.

True, we need to take care of the ball better. Plus we can't have Abrams and Egwu having their horrible games together like that. We need to go kill ga tech now.

Do you think last years' squad would have won this game? Because winning something like the Maui Classic and then, turning around and losing to the likes of Gardner Webb was par for the course the last few seasons.

No. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have won this or the Hawaii game.

I'm shocked SSR is picking against IU.

Should be an up and down game and fun to watch. You would have to think UNC will want to come out more focused than they did against Butler.

I watched the Wisconsin game and I was pretty impressed with Creighton. I don't know how McDermott's skills will translate in the NBA but he's a very good college player.

I would've picked UNC if it were in Chapel Hill. If Zeller gets in foul trouble it could get ugly but I don't see that happening in the Hall of Calls.

i think they showed guts winning both games in the way they did. neither were pretty, but they found a way to win.

Obviously Zeller is key in all games, but I think IU matches up pretty well at the other positions too.

This team is more than just Zeller, but he is obviously the most important piece.

I'm expecting a close game.

Agreed, I love feeling confident that we will at least get a shot off at the end of games. Too many times the past five years we would turn the be all over or go for a two down three with not time left.

Seems like they take a lot less bad 2s, but it could be that they simply get to the end of the shot clock less.

I think we mask a lot of our issues by playing fast. The guys don't have time to make as many mistakes in this pace.

IMO, this is the single biggest factor in the improvement we've seen early on. I think they were all in their own heads a little too much and they're not only playing faster, but more instinctively because they don't have time to over think things. I'm really liking what I've seen so far. I have a feeling they'll lose a couple bad ones along the way but I also think they'll win a couple games they're not supposed to by 10-15 points because of really hot shooting.

It's so weird to see Michigan #3 in the country. They played well last week beating Pittsburgh and KState (looked really good in that one), but they haven't been tested yet to earn that #3 spot. I'm excited to see how they do tomorrow against NC State which is their only ranked non-conference team they play.

NC State has kind of been dragging so far. Got beat down by Okie State then needed to rally hard to beat UNC-Asheville. Probably catching them at the right time.
