Peter Gammons ‏ @pgammo

Since Jon Lester left Game One, Boston starters and reliever have allowed 25 runs in 20.1 innings. Come home Turk Wendel

And you thought OUR bullpen problems were bad...

Andrew Cashner has been doing well for the Padres thus far, having three consecutive identical outings of 1 IP, 1 BB, 1 K.

Also saw, because of an old news update on his fantasy profile on CBS, that in his spring debut he was AVERAGING 102.2 MPH?!?! I knew he could touch 100, didn't know he could get it that high.

I forgot Jon Miller does Giants games. He's a good listen when he doesn't have Joe Morgan dragging him down. This MLB at Bat App is so nice to have... baseball every afternoon.

I don't think I've heard him call a game in ages, even when he was on SNB. He's got a great baseball announcer voice though.

He goes without a partner like Scully.

That Justin Verlander guy is pretty good.

Through eight innings against the Rays, he's allowed one hit and one walk while throwing only 81 pitches.

Still a good decade plus to go but back in 2009 I called him the most likely future HOFer of any of the young pitchers in the game. Since then he's fn gotten better. I thought I was just crazy guy talking, and probably still do but I'm just glad I'm not eating the words 3 years later.

Johan Santana peaked at like 88 today....Still a good pitcher because he's a pitcher and therefore a savvy mfer, but man do I miss dominant Johan. Guy's mental makeup, work ethic, and toughness are just through the roof so it's not shocking to see him doing alright after a surgery that usually kills careers, especially at his age. One of the easiest athletes to root for that I've ever seen.

Apparently the White Sox home opener had to be delayed 2/3 of the way through the top of the first inning because the batter's boxes were improperly chalked.

Matt Cain nearly threw a perfect game today. He only allowed one baserunner on a hit to the opposing pitcher, James McDonald. He finished with 11 strikeouts and a game score of 96.
