extremely hard to believe. i knew a person that had this happen to him and he said it was 2-3 years before he even felt comfortable standing up. there's a lot of mental stuff that goes with the recovery of something this devastating also. how can you go through that and ever trust that ankle again?

What's a reasonable time frame? Kendall suffered his in the first half of the season and missed the rest, same with Jenkins. Moises missed a season. And none of these guys are pitchers, nor were they fat or rehabbing another injury coming in. They were all athletes who were never the same physically after the injury. Joba is a slob who was already coming back from TJS. This is a going to be a major setback to that recovery, and now he has to worry about 2 weak spots whenever he does start pitching again.

Alou actually had a great 1994 season. He was hurt in late '93.

 

The "reasonable time frame" bit was in reply to the contention that Joba's career is over. Others have come back, though sans their speed (which wasn't a key to Chamberlain's game anyway.)

 

I don't think it's a sure bet that he's done.

Ha. Not uncommon when a business is inaccurately associated with something negative. There was a touch of uproar here when media was reporting that a guy was shot and killed at a local bar when it turns out the 2 guys had recently left said bar and were in a public space/park (20 feet of grass in the city) next door to the bar.

Ha. Not uncommon when a business is inaccurately associated with something negative. There was a touch of uproar here when media was reporting that a guy was shot and killed at a local bar when it turns out the 2 guys had recently left said bar and were in a public space/park (20 feet of grass in the city) next door to the bar.

Is there really such a thing as cease and assist? Or is it supposed to be cease and desist like jersey was implying?

No, the guy in the email mispoke. He sent his competitor a cease & desist letter.
