Good God! How can you even steer a wheel at .24? .27 is supposedly near death.

I once witnessed a chick I was out with trip going down some stairs and whack her head on a brick wall. She was nearly comatose before hitting her head and when the hospital ran her BAC, it was .29. You have to get upwards of .30 and near .40 in most cases to get to the point where death is a real possibility. Also, to be functioning at all at .24, you have a hell of a tolerance. He's a bit of a drinker to say the least.

The NFL said Monday that it will immediately begin to hire and train replacement officials as contract talks with the NFL Referees Association "remain unresolved and the previous CBA has expired."

The league said it has made the decision to hire replacements "in order to ensure that there is no disruption to NFL games this season."

"Our goal is to maintain the highest quality of officiating for our teams, players, and fans, including proper enforcement of the playing rules and efficient management of our games," the league said in its statement.

Chad Ochocinco left Patriots complex before today's OTA...to attend an eye doctor appointment. Contrary to speculation, he was not released.

After unsuccessfully trying to trade WR Chad Ochocinco throughout the day Thursday, the Patriots are releasing him, per league source.

On Wednesday, Dallas Cowboys fullback Lawrence Vickers left practice -- accompanied by a trainer -- with some unknown ailment.

During a play, Vickers said he felt a stinging sensation below his waist.

"Fire ants got in my pants," Vickers said. "I was freaking out. Oh, ants!"

[snip]

"I was trying not to squeeze myself in front of women out there," Vickers said. "I wanted to pull my pants down and run inside, but I couldn't do that. When those ants get close to those testicles, there ain't no laughing about that."

Fire ant bites are awful.

And apparently that guy is allergic and carries an epi-pen because of it, so that was a pretty legitimate, if not hilarious, concern.

I had a house in Texas when my daughter was three. She was playing in the backyard while I was working back there. She sat on a fire ant hill and got a huge number of bites before I could react. I had to rush her to the hospital for treatment. She still has a fear of insects.

Those things are flat out nasty.

ESPN has announced that Chris Berman and Trent Dilfer will call the second game of the season-opening Monday Night Football doubleheader, when the Raiders host the Chargers.

I will be very happy not to watch that one.

Yep. I never usually watch the second game, but usually its because of the time, or the disinterest in the teams. Now I get another reason.

I usually never watch it either. It's usually a shitty matchup like Chiefs v. Raiders and it doesn't get done until like 1 a.m.

It's not good football if it's played on the west coast.

Fire ants suck. Usually the smaller they are the worse they hurt.

NFL: AroundTheLeague ‏@NFL_ATL

NFL confirms move for Sunday 4:15 games to 4:25 pm ET. 4:05 games remain unchanged. Will impact about 40 games this year.

That to avoid early national games bumping into later national games?

To answer my own question.....yep.

The league explains that the change would have reduced overlap by 66 percent over the last three seasons, reducing the numbers of affected games from 44 to 15.

That Ochocinco is a pretty good dude

Chad Ochocinco can be annoying, and his wedding proposal was the saddest of all time. But there’s no criticizing what he did here, which is just incredibly sweet.

He’s getting married to Evelyn Lozada tomorrow, on July 4th, and, due to his generosity, a grieving widow will be there to watch.

The woman, Cheryl Minton, recently lost her husband of 30 years and turned to Ochocinco to lift her spirits. He didn’t disappoint.

@ochocinco

You have a passport? RT @cheryl2958: I'm feeling pretty low today. Lost my hubby 2 weeks ago. Together 30 years. Very hard.

@ochocinco

Can you pack and come to the wedding? RT @cheryl2958: @ochocinco Yes I do.

@ochocinco

Check ya DM... Just start packing... Evelyn will make arrangements... see you tonight/early a.m. RT @cheryl2958: Yes.where is it?

@ochocinco o. Ok. I'm flabbergasted! I love you!

For as much crap as he takes, Ochocinco has always seemed like a good guy. And in typical Ocho fashion, he did this all via Twitter.

Way to go, Chad.
