NFL schedule release will be Tuesday the 17th.

The Packers open the season against the 49'ers in Green Bay on a Sunday, then 4 days later play the Bears. That sucks. Week 3 we go to Seattle, then back home for Week 4 against the Saints.

Colin Cowherd just had a conspiracy rant about the NFL schedule, claiming the league set up Mark Sanchez for failure (really tough opening 5 games for the Jets) to force Tebow into action, and that the Broncos (Manning) and Jets (Tebow) never play during the same time slot all season. He also noted that all of the Jets primetime games are in mid to late season.

Conversely, he claims that the league is setting up Luck for success, with the Bears game the only tough one in the opening portion of the season

Breaking news: Donovan McNabb would vote for himself for the Hallf of Fame...

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/04/18/donovan-mcnabb-i-would-vote-for-myself-for-the-hall-of-fame/

“Absolutely,” McNabb said. “See, one thing that people don’t realize — I never played the game to make it to the Hall of Fame. I played the game because I love it. I played the game to win. I’m a competitor. When I step out on the field, I feel like I’m the best player on the field. Even these last two years, when people may look at it and say, ‘Oh, he’s done, or whatever.’ I’m 34, 35 years old but still, I played at the pinnacle, I played at the highest level of my career. I played there. And I would vote for myself for the Hall of Fame.”

Colin Cowherd should do the world a favor and put a loaded revolver in his mouth.

Well this is just awesome news....

According to Bloomberg.com, via SportsBusiness Daily, DirecTV will cut the price of its Sunday Ticket feature by more than 40 percent, to $199.95.

Wow that's great. Since when you call to cancel the renewal they will immediately offer 50% or more off.

I wasn't going to renew this year but even for $200 I probably would.

They charged extra for HD two years ago, but didn't last year. So I'd assume this price would include HD.

That is awesome. I was literally just thinking about this the other day--wondering if they cut their prices some whether they would get way more people to sign up and make more in the end. I have almost signed up in the past, but always ended up passing based on the price. For $200, I will definitely sign up this year. I would have paid $200 just to get Bears games, but this will be great.

Asante Samuel is now apparently being offered for a 5th-6th round pick. Really no reason at this point for the Titans not to get involved, unless he just won't restructure his deal at all.

This is on the level of spy gate no? Seems very similar.

But hey, the Saints survived Katrina and they'll survive this!
