My bad if this has already been asked, but... Question: if this weren't Castro, but a player from another team, let's say the Cards or the Brewers, or even a Cub that's not as popular as Castro, who would you all be blaming - the player or the woman?

Barely anybody has blamed the woman and those that have have been ridiculed. What thread are you reading?

This isn't a discussion we've had nor one we're going to have. The handful (and there have been very few) disgusting posts that have blindly blamed the woman have largely been ignored or forgotten. Let's keep it that way.

It was reported on the Score today (well, technically WBBM reported it) that Castro went in for questioning last night at around 7:30pm and was still being questioned as of this morning.

That's kind of a long time...

More than 12 hours? I find that a touch hard to believe unless he's been charged and it hasn't been publicized (which is also hard to believe).

Per Rotoworld:

WBBM Newsradio in Chicago reports that Starlin Castro was questioned by Chicago police Thursday night and into Friday morning over allegations of sexual assault.

Although he would not confirm that Castro had been interviewed when reached by ESPNChicago.com, Chicago police spokesman Robert Perez did say that the shortstop is "not under arrest." As of now, it appears that no charges have been filed against Castro, who has been accused by an unidentified woman in her 20s of assaulting her. Jay K. Reisinger and Michael P. Gillespie, attorneys for Castro, previously issued a statement that said the allegations are "baseless" and that they're confident he'll eventually be cleared of any wrongdoing.

This reads a bit different than what they said on the radio, but...

CHICAGO (CBS) — Police brought Cubs shortstop Starlin Castro in for questioning shortly before midnight last night about allegations of sexual assault.

WBBM Newsradio’s Mike Krauser reports Castro was being questioned at the Belmont Area Headquarters, 2452 W. Belmont Ave., Friday morning after arriving the night before. Later Friday, he is supposed to attend the Cubs Convention, which starts at 3 p.m. at the Chicago Hilton and Towers downtown.

So he could have been interviewed for 45 minutes from late Thursday night until Friday morning

And he wasn't under arrest and has lawyered up, so he would have left if it was too long/late. It was probably in his best interest to look compliant, and in the media's best interest to juice it up for a sexy story.

He should have learned the lesson from the original incident - not much good happens after midnight.
