A kid with a good head on his shoulders does not transfer to a new school a few months before he is supposed to graduate from high school. Between this transferring and the whole commitment-day escapade, it's pretty obvious that this kid has some issues.

He does have some issues. Two deaths in the family may have contributed to that.

 

Look, no one's saying there aren't some concerns with Neal. But you're saying he's got character issues, which is a pretty big leap to make about the kid based on very little info.
