Stop sassing him Banedon. Jersey and Sulleys meltdowns have made this thread the success it is today.

I like Hill much more than any WR left. I also think he's the biggest upside guy left, other than Jenkins, who I can't see us trading up for, for a myriad of reasons. I figure we'll be picking in the 20's next year as it is, so adding Hill, who I think can give us a phenomenal group of WR's, makes sense to me. It'd give us the ability to add a DT and a OG/OT in the 2nd and 3rd rounds and we'd probably be able to snag Dennard in the 4th. The downside is all we'd have next year is a 2nd, but we'd have a full season to address that as well.

meltodowns, ha. i'm not preaching doom. this is still a good team, regardless of the incompetence of the pick.

Yeah. Sulley never preaches doom. He's always sunshine and butterflies.

I'm pretty much on board with this. I'd be extremely happy trading up for Hill. That said, Emery's comments about the McClellin pick allowing him to "stick to his plan" gave me the feeling he wasn't planning on doing anything crazy. Then again he's been completely unpredictable to date...

he's not a 4-3 end, the only other teams interested in him were the pats and packers. guess what they play, go ahead, guess.

A box-and-one?

fwiw, New England does not play a pure 3-4 anymore it's more of a hypbrid and often you see their rushers in a 3 point stance(with four down lineman). Mark Anderson played a ton as a down lineman for them last year.

There's huge upgrades early second round. I'd be disappointed if the bears don't trade up.

Glenn, Jenkins, Randle, Still, Fleener, Branch, Curry.

Would you guys be set if they went after Dline again? couple of great DE left.

I would love a trade up to secure Worthy, build a beastly defensive line. Quite frankly, I could care less if they draft a corner, you win on defense in this league based on your front 7.

I would trade up for...

Fleener (TE)

Glenn (OG)

Jenkins (CB)

Worthy (DT)

Massie (OT)

Screw taking another DE. Whether we like it or not, we took ours. Move on to another position that needs filling. Guys I'd trade up for would be Hill, Fleener, Glenn, and Jenkins.

Agreed, I'd rather have Upshaw to McClellin but I wouldn't draft him just to do so.

Trading up is probably unnecessary.

Worthy, K Reyes, Massie, Glenn, Randle, or Hill would all be amazing picks and the BPAs for what the Bears need on the board. And there is a pretty good chance of 1 of them falling. You still have 3 1st round talents on the board at all of DT, WR, and OT. I still think you're going to have someone either take or trade up for a QB (Osweiler or Cousins). Still have Upshaw on the board among others, and then there's flat out reaches like Irvin and Jenkins that are possible. If Janoris is on the board at 50, I'd also probably take that risk too. He's very good.

If we liked McClellin that much, then I wonder if Emery explored trading down a few spots for him.

Reaction to the pick is all over the map. People just don't a very solid read on what will happen with this guy. He could wind up anywhere, including on the list of 1st round busts.

I doubt he displaces Izzy year one. It's not the same player, and Lovie is still coaching this defense.

Does this pick mean anything in terms of Lovie?

I'm excited for the next couple rounds, but I think Emery needs to now settle down and pick a solid player that makes sense for the position he is taken. He's gotten our attention. Now draft a good value pick or two.

Well, the only team that traded up at the end of the first was New England twice. Minnesota also traded up, but gave up a 2nd. The Bears probably felt they had to stay above GB to get McClellin, and probably didn't want to trade with NE because they might have taken him themselves.

No to another dlineman in rd 2. I know we did that in the mock draft, and I didn't like it then either. Take a OL, possibly CB or WR

The Bears need the help at DT. Melton, Paea, and Toeina is it on the roster (Jordan Miller from practice squad also around). If I was a betting man though, I'd say WR and OL are the most likely picks tonight.
