Bears need to go best player available (sans QB and RB) in every round this year.

Depends on who is making the determination on which player is "the best available."

The sooner the draft cannot distract me from finals, the better.

It feels like you've been college for at least 8 years.

Hahaha took a year off after graduation to travel and annoy SSR (apparently), then sadly I chose to go to law school.

You're not the only one who's still in school or went to school for a long time. Went to college, lost my hearing and got cochlear implants so I took 2 years off, then back to school. Got my computer graphic design degree. Took a year working with my dad and trying to find a job (when it was REALLY bad economy). I decided to go to architecture school, then my dad had 2 heart attacks in the past year so now I'm back helping with my dad's construction business. I still got 4 years left in architecture school whenever I go back. I graduated high school in '03.

Anyway... I can't wait for the draft next week. I like the Geno Hayes signing just have some LB depth and he can compete with Roach.

5 yr B.Arch. I was already in at University of Arkansas and was there for a year and half (although I only did first year studio and first semester was to finish off my core classes that I needed to take). I applied to some grad schools to get a M.Arch on my CG degree (it's specialized in architecture), but didn't get in any. I did this on my last year when I got my CG degree. While I was looking for jobs and working for my dad, I just decided to just apply to schools with B.Arch. I got accepted in everywhere I applied so I had some options and went with Arkansas.

........ Arkansas.

One of my old bosses in MPLS went to Arkansas. Not a bad choice. Besides, it's the home of Fay Jones, so there is that.

Best of luck.

ETA: I mean, how can you not appreciate this:

Some of the latest mocks have the bears passing on Michael Floyd with him slipping past 19.

Thankfully I highly doubt that they would do that

I doubt he'd even get to 19 but yeah, I definitely can't see them passing on Floyd if he's there.

Yeah, Michael Lombardi has him slipping

I've read that Reiff is the guy analysts like a hell of a lot more than teams do. That he could fall out of the first round altogether.

I'm starting to think the Bears are going to draft a great prospect that is going to slip. You now have Chandler Jones and the DB Gilmore quickly rising up the board. One of WR Floyd, DE Coples, or OL Reiff will slip in my opinion down to Chicago.

Coples still scares me.

Agreed, I thought he might a few months ago. There are plenty of players out there, 19 isn't a bad position at all to see a guy like Floyd drop down.

I don't think Floyd falls. But if he does, I think the Bears value the depth at WR in this draft and would look to see if someone is in love enough with him to trade up from the 20s for him. Houston and SF would be the most likely teams to have interest. I think that way, the Bears can still get a decent DE (Mercilus, Perry, Branch or Jones), a DT (Reyes or Worthy, who I'm not sure the Bears even have looked at), or since Floyd is on the board at 19, the Bears could take a WR like Wright, Hill, or Randle (who all may be better fits to stretch the field now that Marshall is on the roster) in the 20s and get an extra draft pick.

Team will wear the 1940s throwbacks as their third alternate instead of the orange jerseys this year.

Rest in peace, traffic cones.

Does anyone have a picture of these throwbacks?

Hester or some guy with a good 40 time we draft in the 4th or 5th round can stretch the field. The Bears need more receivers that can get open quickly and actually catch a pass. If Floyd is there, I think the Bears have to take him.

Another reason, I'm so glad Angelo/Ruskell are gone

http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2012/04/tim_ruskell_said_bears_planned.html

Former Bears general manager Jerry Angelo was reluctant to add a No. 1 receiver, believing in Devin Hester and the emergence of Johnny Knox. But former Bears player personnel director Tim Ruskell said the Bears planned to address that position this offseason.

"That's something that needed to be done, especially with the injury to Johnny," Ruskell said last week. "That was a hit to that group. We obviously would have looked at that very hard."

There were several options via free agency, most notably former San Diego Chargers star receiver Vincent Jackson. But, this was also considered a fairly talented rookie receiver class.

New Bears general manager Phil Emery traded two third-round picks for Brandon Marshall. So what does Ruskell think?

"Very talented player. That's never in question. It's just the fit, in terms of any issues he may have had. You have to make that decision. Is this something you want to take on? Is this person going to be disruptive?" Ruskell said. "That's the decision on Marshall, not the talent level.

"That's one you have to do all your homework. And if you're going to make a decision on a guy like that, you have to make sure everyone is comfortable, and you've turned over every rock, and weigh that against the risks and rewards."

Ruskell said it's important to be mindful of the right chemistry in the locker room.

"If you bring in one guy who is divisive, that can create problems that are hard to overcome," he said.

Really, Tim...an injury to Johnny Knox was the wakeup call you needed a #1 WR...smh :banghead:
