NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora Reports: Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte will agree to a contract extension within the next 24 hours.

It's been a good day for the bears, but I'm not excited about this. Hopefully the guaranteed money isn't too high.

 

I guess they wanna get rid of that franchise tag and lower the cap hit so they can free up some more money for FAs. I feel the same way. It'll depend on what the extension is for.

Which makes sense because a) Williams is younger than Peppers is (although Peppers is better) and b) You have to overpay to get FAs to come to Buffalo.

In 6 games vs. the NFC North opponents of the Bears (not including 2 games he played vs. the Bears), Marshall has had a 10 catch, 100 yard game, 3 different times. 1 each vs. Minnesota (2007), GB (2010), and Detroit (2010).

Costanzo ranked second on the 49ers in special teams tackles last season with 17 tackles. He also had what the 49ers call 27 “knock downs” and six “big plays.” Huge forced fumble on a punt and recovered fumble on a kickoff in the Saints playoff game. Fill the Brian Iwuh/Tim Shaw role.

See yeah, 3.5 million is way too much for someone who could very well not see the field this year. They basically spent 15% of their available cap space on an insurance policy.

I mean on some level I understand the Campbell signing because if Cutler somehow was out for some period of time and the replacement was worthless like last year, they'd look pretty damn bad. Still, a hefty chunk of change.
