With the draft lottery tonight (AKA ping pong balls for Anthony Davis) I heard this today. The Spurs have 1 lottery player on their roster (Duncan) with the league average being just under 5, the Celtics and Thunder have 6 each and the Heat have 7. Finally the Spurs have 7 2nd round draft picks on their roster only 2 teams had more 2nd picks on their roster than that in the league this year.

Umm... I only know 5 for Celtics.... Allen/Garnett/Pierce/Pietrus/Dooling (how in the world was Dooling a lottery pick???)

That's pretty incredible what the Spurs have done. They have the best system in the league.

The Pacers have 2 lottery picks on the current roster with only 1 of them being a starter, and the highest pick on their roster was #10 overall.

So, NBA lottery tonight!

For me, the biggest story is to see if someone jumps Golden State, because then they'd have spent the entire second half of the season tanking for nothing, as they'd lose their first round pick.

The report the other day was that Golden State was trying to complete a trade before the lottery started to make sure that didn't happen. They want the pick so badly that they're willing to give something up just to protect against the chance that they may lose it. Of course time is running out if they want to do a deal like that.

All I care about regarding the lottery is that the Kings don't move up.

This lottery show is incredible. Parsons winking to Heather Cox, the Nets chick passing a message in Russian to Prokhorov, both Gilberts and Irving with bow ties and horn rimmed glasses, and we haven't even started revealing the order.

So is Stern going to "cold envelope" the #1 pick for Brooklyn?

Since we already know it's going to be either New Orleans, Washington or Charlotte, I think its safe to say the answer is no.

Looks like Anthony Davis is going to New Orleans.

I'm not following it, sorry

I mean, I'm pretty sure that one of the Bobcats or the Wizards will screw this up and leave Beal or MKG there for the Cavs, but I'd rather have the mathematical certainty instead of the near certainty of Bobcat/Wizard incompetence.

Eh, I wouldn't count on Rich Cho to screw up for the Bobcats

It's really hard to name a better franchise in any of the major sports.
