I agree, but the voters dont. The last truly great defender to win one KG almost 10 years ago. You could argue Kobe, but his MVP was a lifetime achievment award. The MVP usually follows a Pts + RBs+ Assists +Team Wins formula.

totally rational knicks fans talk about how theyre glad they didnt get chris paul because now they have lin:

http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=1159476

So ive been reading a bit more from this and found the following:

"Lin = Jason Kidd 2.0 + Nash's dribbling and finishing. The great thing is that Lin already shoots better now than Kidd did early in his career, and Kidd kept improving, as Lin has done already since last year."

I hope they do realize that if this is indeed what they believe they have (i.e. Kidd + Nash's handles), then they have what is possibly the greatest NBA basketball player of all time.

Im sorry for Lin, but I just cant wait for this to fail.

No response to Perkins calling out Lebron and Lebron whining how hes always blamed for things?

As a fan I enjoy this type of thing for whatever reason. Its kinda fun. A scrub like Perkins has about as much business getting into with lebron as deshawn stephenson and brendan heywood did. Perkins is being a joke, Blake gave you a facial, just deal with it man.

It was cool when sheed called out lebron because he was a great player. Perkins is 6 fouls and 6 rebounds for OKC. Basically, hes Nenad Kristic. Lebron is right, hes an easy target and way too many people hate him for no reason.

Perkins has this false sense of importance because he was a Celtic and rode some coat tails to a title. You realize that LeBrons taken dumps with more talent than you Kendrick, right?

I pulled some selected quotes from that Knicks forum regarding Lin. Good stuff.

To get a 23 yr old pure PG of this caliber for the MLE is a major coup

if melo plays like durant in this system, we would be the best team in the league. Imagine suns with defense, thats the best in the league.

What he's done over the past 3 games is no fluke, it's the work of a truly special PG.

Like I've stated in another thread... I take Lin + Chandler over Chris Paul himself.

When Stat and Melo come back and as long as they both score 20 points plus per night, I would sign up with Lin getting 14 points 12 assists [per game].

Now we have a top 5 C and a very good PG for $15M combined.

Gotta thank some basketball Gods for Lin.

If Lin starts a full season and plays a full season with Melo and Stat, there's no way he averages less than 10 assists per game.

Lin is Steve Nash 2.0.

Lin is not Nash. Nash is a deadly long range shooter. He strikes me as more of a Jason Kidd type, especially given his 6-3/6-4 height.

The ceiling for this kid is scary

Lin is a young player now so I think he is better than Kidd, but a younger Kidd would have transformed this team in a similar way. And Nash of course. Someone made a Tony Parker comparison which has some validity too.

And by far my favorite one:

I can't really think of many young guards as good as Lin has been so far. I don't consider Paul or Deron young guards anymore. And I'd take Lin over Deron at this point, though not Paul. Lin really may be one of the best new guards with Rubio and soon considered to be in the top 5. If that is true, then he could make the All-Star game next year. If he keeps this up, his efficiency and production would statistically make him the first or second best PG in the league.

Wow...just wow. Imagine if John Lucas got some burn in NY.

“I thought this was an awful game,” Celtics coach Doc Rivers said. “If we had won, it would have been an awful game that we won. Give them credit: A lot of that was defense. But I thought a lot of it was self-inflicted.”

And how. Ugly.

The under hit by a point and a half. When a 176.5 under hits in OT, and it was 88-87 with 2 minutes left in OT, its an ugly ugly finish.

The Lakers don't run an offense

Wait, so going 4-18 from three night after night doesn't constitute running an offense?
