If they weren't being held in England he probably wouldn't be playing in them. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I don't fault him at all. Supposedly he may not even require surgery anymore either.

If he wants to play, thats fine, but he better not have surgery after either. If he wants surgery he better wait until 2013 off season.

Why wouldn't you want one of our best players healthy for next season? Given the current landscape of the Eastern Conference, we could still have a chance at the #2 seed even with Deng out until December and Rose coming back at some point.

Who knows what happens between now and then, but I have a hard time seeing the Bulls getting the 2 in that scenario. (Not that they should really be concerned with that. Get your best players healthy, and prepare for the playoffs. Would be interesting if they dropped down to the 4/5 game and were slotted to take on Miami in the semis. There'd be some interesting tanking/busting your ass of games down the stretch to get out of that top half of the bracket.

That doesn't make any sense, until he gets the surgery to correctly fix it, he's going to continue to be a fraction of himself(prior injury).

Yeah that's pretty silly. You have to bite the bullet and get him healthy so he's not shooting 40% next year and is able to actually drive to the basket.

I know the Celtics will be a year older and worse.

sorry, still angry about Rose getting hurt. Really though only Miami n the East scares me. I can't see any of these other decent teams being a real challenge if we are at full strength.

Predicting next years playoffs during this years playoffs is not a challenge I'm prepared to take on.

I'll take our second best player at 80% and playing over missing half the season. Yea, I'd prefer him to get 100% and be ready for training camp, but that just doesn't look in the cards. Its an injury he can play with.

If our roster doesn't have Rose and Deng until December we may struggle to make the playoffs.

The season is meaningless. Get to the playoffs with everybody at 100%. That's the only real goal.

John Lucas III ‏ @Luke1luk

Out eating with my mom and she just told me to take it to the next level 2morrow

Does she mean actually run the offense this time?

screw having Lucas run the offense. When he runs the offense he is easily defended. Our best bet when Lucas has to play is for him to attack and let our superior rebounding make up for his inefficiency. That, or play off the ball and hit threes.

yup, let lucas attack and hope our bigs can clean it up. and by "our bigs" i mean noah.

plus if he can start penetrating that might start collapsing so korver and rip can get some looks. those guys were locked down all game because we had no penetration.

Lucas isn't really a "cut to the basket" scorer though. Neither is CJ. They're shooters. Deng and Hamilton are the only guys that really can get any penetration at all.

Why didn't he think of that before?

His dad was a drug addict?

Pretty much. Deng moves great without the ball, but he's pretty limited when he has the ball in his hands trying to create his own shot. I think of Rip in the same mold too. He's more of a guy that relies on screens to free himself up to get good looks. The Bulls are severely lacking in guys that can create their own shot. That was extremely evident in the entire second half the other night.
