When Rose goes nuts in the fourth quarter, hearing the color guy yelling stuff like MVP TIME BABY! WOOOOOOOO!!!! is more awesome than words can even describe.

That would fall under being a fan which IMO is perfectly fine. Being a homer (when used negatively) is IMO completely different from that.

There's a difference between being a "Ron Santo" homer and being a "Hawk Harrelson" homer. Santo got really excited when his team did well, and didn't know too much about the opponent. Harrelson gets really excited when his team does well, and actively disparages the opponent on air.

King leans more Santo, and Funk leans more Harrelson.

I don't care as much about Funk ripping the opposition as much as I do about him constantly calling the action incorrectly (not analysis-wise just flat out factual errors).

Rose's refusal to cheer any happenings last night was MVP time.

I saw him going crazy in the third when they pushed the lead back out. Did you watch the game?

Both funk and king are horrible. King is a dumber and less successful version of santo

Ridiculous. Nobody was dumber than Ron Santo.

And saying "homers have no place broadcasting" or whatever is even more ridiculous. The Comcast games are local broadcasts; why the [expletive] shouldn't there be a homer color commentator saying ridiculous things?

There is a difference between rooting for a team from the booth and being a homer. I don't think anybody thinks local announcers to be neutral. But I personally don't want to listen to an announcer for 2 hours straight that is saying ridiculous things, just like I'm not a fan of listening to a fan next to me that complains about every call and continues saying they're right even when the replay clearly shows they're wrong.

And the local broadcasts are becoming increasingly less local with people watching on NBA League Pass, the games that are on NBA TV, etc.

This.

Stacey King and his annoying unfunny nicknames can **** off. Funk doesn't bother me as much, but I'd like the color guy to bring insight and to make the telecast a little more interesting and fun to watch. King contributes literally nothing which is indeed worse then Ron Santo.

Why do you guys hate fun so much? Don't one of you meatballs hate Gus Johnson, too?

Johnson + King = dream team of all time

Sports are about serious analysis and always freaking out that your team might not win a championship. No fun allowed.

I love fun and watching Bulls games but when Stacey King's howling interrupts my thoughts and then he does the CJ WATSSONNNNAAAHHH, I literally want to strangle him.

Sidenote: Tirico's TAJ MAHAL call last night was awkward.

Ok, why? What thought does that interrupt, how does that interrupt it, wtf in general?

Funk is terrible. I never realized how bad he was on the radio, because the radio covered up so many of his shortcomings, he just inaccurately reports the game to begin with, in addition to his obnoxious mannerisms and stupid agenda's. I think the perfect move would be a Swirski for Funk swap. Hide Funk back on the radio.

Half the time the TV is on mute in my living room, yes. I watch while doing other things, especially in the evenings.

Johnson + King = dream team of all time

Gus + Raftery is my dream team.

Neither are homers but both are outta control and huge fans of the game.

It's the little things that bother me. Like the other night Boozer puts up a shot from the baseline that goes over the hoop and barely clangs off the back iron on its way down and Funk describes the play as "Boozer shoots one...that's short"

Isolated you can say that's stupid nit picking, but when that's one of 30 similar mistakes he makes during a given game, it becomes obsessively infuriating. I should definitely find some way to turn it into a drinking game so I lighten up about it, but sometimes its fun to channel all of life's frustrations and angers onto Neil Funk.

Bulls are winning early in the 2nd half.

Unfortunately I read somewhere that Rose might miss the rest of this homestand and the upcoming road trip, meaning he'd miss at last 4 more games including tonight
