I just think there is no place for homers when it comes to announcers. FWIW hubie brown is way better then king

I'm fine with the color guy being a homer. The play by play guy should be more fair though, imo. It's my main problem with Funk. He thinks the Bulls are never ever at fault for anything, ever. Hell, King is more objective than Funk is a lot of times.

There's no shortage of problems with Funk. That voice, that [expletive] voice.

I will say this again, Brown is amazing. I love his little phrases that seemingly take minutes for him to get out.

"I tell you Chicago's a great town and these fans love the pro game"

I'm the complete opposite, I don't care about some impartial observers analysis of the game.

If I want to listen to buffoons scream about every call that goes against the Bulls I can go to a bar.

Comcast Sports Net....bringing the din of the bar fanboys straight to your living room!

I really like Brown as well. The only thing that irritates me a bit, and I think he does it on purpose to squash any controversy, is his response to any borderline/bad calls. Any time there is a bad call and ESPN goes to the replay, he immediately says something like, "so that's an easy call, he got him with the left arm," when there is very very little contact if any at all.

But I will always watch the national broadcast if I can. It makes it feel like a bigger game to me.

Agree -- he does do that quite a bit. Most national guys do, with JVG being a notable exception.

This.

I remember back in the day (2004-2005 season) when I went to the bar and had to ask 2 different people until they finally put the Bulls game on instead of something like college hockey or the Liberty Bowl.

Have you listened to a Celtic broadcast?

Hubie is WAY too active in that role. His call borders on exposition. He will spend two possessions talking about somthing like "you know see now here...zaza is over contesting the catch on gasol...the paint is open....bynum with the flush..." Its takes him forever and he provides too much commentary.

And JVG just wines about players and calls.

But seriously, Donny Marshall isn't bad.

Doesnt he do some kind of all-madden type team. "Heinsohn's Hounddogs" or something close to that?

I really wish a crap team, Charlotte I'm looking at you, would go ahead and hire Tim Hardaway and Gary Payton to work their games. I'd buy league pass every year.

not sure why everybody hates the guys who usually call espn games. they aren't bad. hubie brown is really good, and i find guys like shulman and tirico to be competent.

in any case, they're light years ahead of the bulls' abomination of a crew.

I always watch the national broadcast when there's an option.
