Last year Carolina had 53 crappy players on their team, this year they have a franchise QB but still have about 48-50 crappy players on the team. Finding new ways to lose every week and this is getting frustrating.

For some reason I always forget and am then surprised that Vick is left handed.

really? how? In all honesty his leftiness is what sticks out most for me when picturing him (other than killing dogs that is)

Detroit player is not impressed with Tebow:

“Can you believe ’15’?” one Detroit Lions defender asked after his team’s 45-10 immolation of Tebow and the Denver Broncos. “Come on – that’s embarrassing. I mean, it’s a joke. We knew all week that if we brought any kind of defensive pressure, he couldn’t do anything. In the second half it got boring out there. We were like, ‘Come on – that’s your quarterback? Seriously?’ ”

Michael Silver:

So, is Tebow being judged in an unfairly harsh light? His legions of fans would undoubtedly answer in the affirmative. They revere him for his work ethic, his values, his leadership qualities and, not insignificantly, his faith.

However – and this is a big however – there’s a glaring disconnect between many fans’ assessment of Tebow’s status as a wholesome winner and the way many NFL players process his presence. To some, the notion that Tebow somehow pushes harder or taps into a higher power than they do is insulting. The NFL is full of maniacally driven grinders who’ve overcome incredible odds to reach the pinnacle of their profession, and many of them are clean-living and well-mannered, too.

While few NFL players seem to have a problem with Tebow on a personal level, I know plenty who are put off by the mythology and the holier-than-thou fan base that lionizes his every accomplishment and perceives negative depictions of his ability through a persecution-complex-tinted prism.

really going out on a limb there people

everybody who isn't dumb knows Tebow sucks

That's obvious, but I'm not sure if there's ever been a more polarizing quarterback, one who causes his opponent to mock him after a sack and rip him to shreds after a game. Tebow should really tell his supporters to STFU because they drive the hate for him more than anything else.

It's also due to the fact that the media shoves his religious beliefs down the public's throats.

People who get exposed to a player or team's "hype" enough to show the type of backlash* that Tebow receives should probably do a better job of selecting their sources of news.

*probably wrong grammatically, but I'm going with it.

I don't get it

It's quite simple actually. Some people resent Tebow for his lifestyle and want him to fail because they construe his beliefs as more than personal choices, which they are thanks to the media. That's not really Tebow's fault though, yet he's the one getting attacked.

People really need to start understanding how [expletive] evil most of the media is.

Did the media force him to do a Super Bowl ad with his mom?

Hahaha. People aren't resenting him for his beliefs. They resent him for being a bad quarterback. Some people are propping him up because of his lifestyle and beliefs, not the other way around.

the only thing evil about the media is that people within it continue to subject us to chuck lorre sitcoms

For being a bad quarterback with a legion of fans who demand he play.

I have yet to make one argument on this board that you didn't attempt to tear down, but good point anyway. The media is far from innocent in this whole matter though. I also fail to see how Tebow doing a commercial is "shoving his views down people's throats". Why do people take so much offense to people expressing perhaps different beliefs than their own?

I have no idea who you are but I guess you make a lot of bad points if I keep tearing them down.

People get annoyed at proselytizers because it is insulting. They also get annoyed at athletes who try and pretend god is on their side. Doing a commercial for the super bowl, is shoving something down your throats, considering it is the most watched event every year. Pepsi, Budweiser, Ford and all the others are trying to shove stuff down our throats as well.

I do not care if Tebow is Muslim, Wiccan, or a Scientologist. He's a bad QB trying to use his job as a pulpit. And that's annoying, especially since he's not good at his job.

Yesterdays game taught us that....

Jesus apparently likes the Lions way more than he likes Tim Tebow. And that's pretty significant, because Jesus has clearly hated the Lions for about the last half century or so.

I don't care about Tebow's faith. It his personal thing and I find that I don't really care about a lot of athlete's personal opinions.

I get annoyed by the media hype surrounding Tebow because he's presented as a winner and praised for his strong work ethic when ever pro athlete works hard and your not really a loser when you make the top half of your field. The media hypes him up like crazy too, solely because he's a nice guy and that's kind of annoying when he isn't good. I'm sure there are a lot of nice guys who are good who don't get near the press Tebow does.

Then the media tries to tear down anyone who criticizes Tebow because he is a nice person. It's slightly weird.
