A lot of confidence from you guys about the Eagles. I think the Eagles are very dangerous. It would be a very good win for us.

Reasons that I feel confident about beating the Eagles, that may or may not be accurate:

1) Vick hasn't exactly torn up the Bears historically. In his career, he's only beaten the Bears 1 out of 5 tries, is 72-123 for 870 yards, 3 TD's, 3 INT's.

2) The Eagles haven't had an extremely tough schedule. They've only beaten the Rams and Redskins...not exactly brag worthy.

3) Bears will be coming off 2 weeks of preparation, and should have everyone healthy. There's really no situation, other than maybe opening day, that will be better for the Bears to be ready for a game.

After this Sunday night game, I think the Bears will be 7 point underdogs. Good luck to them.

Probably, but the Cowboys are playing like asshats.

their previous two games they'd barely lost at new england and then beat the rams by 27. the rams suck, but it's not like dallas has just completely collapsed. they pretty much only sucked ass in tonight's game.

Yeah, I only was referring to the game last night.

Barely losing to New England is not something to prop up a team. New England absolutely sucks on defense and they've now lost to Buffalo and Pittsburgh. They also barely beat a horrible Miami team. They are not the superstar team many made them out to be. Dallas is pretty much the epitome of mediocrity in this league, and consistently overrated.

That said, impressive win by the Eagles. They have a whole bunch of NFC losses already (3) and for wild card purposes they really need to beat the Bears. However, that division is probably still open to them with a loss. The Giants have a tough stretch coming up, the Eagles still face the Giants, and Philly still has Arizona, Seattle and Miami on their schedule. If they lose to the Bears then they'd only have one loss left to play with and still finish 10-6. Maybe that's New England, which along with the Giants game is probably their only two games left where they will be underdogs (depending on how their season goes).

Anyway, after last night the line is 6.5. I view this one as more of a toss-up myself, which means I'd be happy to take those points. Philly hasn't beaten the Bears by more than 4 since 2004, and the Bears are 3-1 against them since that time. They match up well. The big concern is this defense has aged, while safety remains in flux, and Philly's offense is rolling. It could get ugly, but coming off the bye and with the matchup I think the Bears should do well.

Unsurprisingly, the Bears plan on franchise tagging Matt Forte is they can't reach an extension with him.

Yeah, it's the only way to go at this point. It's just stupid to give huge contracts to RBs this far into their career. It sucks, but it's smart.

It's actually one of the smarter things Angelo has done.

Dammit, why can't we just have noon games?

Now we'll have had 1 noon game in a 6 week stretch (MNF vs. DET, SNF vs. MIN, Noon vs. TB, Bye, MNF vs. PHI, 3:15 vs. DET)

I agree, but it's still better than primetime

Make that 1 noon game in an 8 week stretch, as I just realized the next 2 games after that are at 3:15 as well (vs. SD, @ OAK). Hell we only have 2 more noon games all year.

At least both those opponents suck so they won't be bumped to primetime.

As a season ticket holder I love the 3:15's

For tailgate purposes I assume.

Going to NY games at 1pm allows for a decent amount of tailgating, but I feel like noon games come up too quickly in the morning. But the 4pm games are a glorious mess of beer and seared meat products.

Try tailgating the early games on the West Coast. A Bloody Mary is the only thing that really sounds good early in the morning. Unless, of course, you are just continuing your buzz from the night before.

There is no point of any day where a Bloody Mary sounds good.

I agree they don't sound good, but they can taste quite good. I went on a bloody mary binge a few years ago after never having considered one my entire life. They are way down my list now, but I will dabble from time to time.

Unless you wake up feeling hung over, a breakfast beer is delicious. Of course you could try a manmosa/lunch box, which is a pint of beer leaving a little space for OJ and amaretto.

Mostly for tailgate purposes, for noon games I have to leave the house at like 830 am. But I also like the afternoon slot because I'm able to watch most of the early games somewhere before (condo/bar/parking lot).

Biggest down side to the later games is it gets pretty cold in the 2nd half most weeks. But I'm usually always home before 7:30.

Night games suck.
